Default PQ question--my first HDMI TV

I will be getting my first TV that has HDMI connections.

With th TV I now have, which does not have an HDMI connection, from the Blu player I run HDMI to the receiver and from the receiver I run component to the TV. For AQ I am using a 6.2 mutl-channel analog and have no need for the HDMI cable.

My question is:

It may not make a difference but with the up and coming new TV with HDMI connections, would I get a better PQ if I ran an HDMI cable directly from the Blu to the TV vs running first to the receiver then to the TV????

I could also ask the same about the HD set top box. Run directly to the TV vs to the receiver then the TV???

.

you'd be getting down converted video quality... From what I understand your better off setting the rec. to PCM then doing analog hope that helps.. any more questions just pop them in here.

Ditch the component. Like supersix4 said, you'll be losing quality. Go with all HDMI..you won't be disappointed.
