United Kingdom Underworld evolution?

Does any one know if the second underworld film wil be re-released in a higher MPEG4 codec? Will the trilogy pack have the film in MPEG4?

The first underworld film in the UK is MPEG2 But the US version is MPEG4, so will have to import that at some stage!

Don't know if they'll redo it, but I actually watched this at the weekend and thought the picture quality was decent. It was constantly in the mid 20mbps and I saw it up in the mid 30mbps. Bearing in mind that it's such a dark film I was fearing the worst before watching it but was pleasantly surprised. I was also disappointed that it said DD5.1 on the casing but when I played it my receiver said DTS and the PS3 was showing 1.5mbps. Now this is the maximum my receiver will do as it only has optical in, so whether this film actually has DTSHDMA (all my DTSHDMA films show as 1.5mbps) or it just tops out at 1.5mbps anyway I don't know.

So for a film I paid less that £9 for it had better PQ than I was expecting, better AQ than I was expecting and I enjoyed the film (Kate Beckinsale in skin tight PVC so what's not to like ). Bonus

Its EIV so I doubt they will redo the movies in AVC for a very long time or possibly not at all. I recomend you pick up the US edition of underworld.

Underwolrd 2 I picked up from the UK and it was not so great and it only had 1.5Mbps DTS sound so the first one will have to.

I am waiting on confirmation about underworld 3 from the US hoping its region free but from what I can find its locked.

Knowing EIV we will more and likely see (using most of their previous releases specs) BD-25 VC1 and DTS-HD MA 5.1 unless they buy the US disk of sony.

It may be possibly they could do AVC BD-50 and DTS-HD MA 5.1 since they have done in the past on very rare occations.

I will defaintly import the first underworld film from the US. As for the second film, I may get it if its in a buy 2 get the 3rd one free. And I will replace it with a better version if or when it ever happens. Although i wont hold my breathe. As for the third, I watched it a while back, its an ok film! Im not sure if i will get that on bluray, maybe if its in a special deal

Picked up the UK EIV release of underworld 3 in the end since the US version was locked and I don't have a credit card to buy the Australian release.

Using BDInfo looking at the disk brought the movie encode EIV has brought the movie encode and Dolby TrueHD Track from sony (I seen a BDInfo on the sony version and mine matched both in picture and audio bitrate) which is good but skipped out the PIP which does not bother me.

Default Underworld question

Am I correct in assuming that in the boxset, the 1st film is the extended cut.

Correct. The only theatrical version I know of, is the Dutch release.
