Default PS3 Blu-ray Rebates?

Hello everyone:

I was curious as to how many people who have the PS3 BluRay rebates are actually going to use them. As ridiculous as it may sound... I really don't want to cut the cover inserts for the UPC that is required to send in. My wife thinks I'm crazy not to... am I the only one?

Having to cut the covers is the only reason I'm not sending any of the rebates.

Can't you just make photocopies? I plan on doing it reguardless. Blu-Ray packaging isn't that attractive anyhow.

Hmnn... maybe scanning and then printing on similar type of paper stock. I'd be interested to find out if anyone had tried this yet. I guess we wouldn't even find out if it works for a couple of months since thats how long it takes to get the rebate in the mail. Luckily, we have until the summer to submit fot the rebates.

I was hesitant at first too.. If you use a box cutter and are careful about it, you can get the UPC code cleanly from the insert with no problems, throw a note card behind the hole and no one will be the wiser.

The rebates require the original UPC, so scanning isn't an option. They do this so you can't return the movie after you send in the rebate (...though you'd think that being with out a receipt would accomplish the same goal... hmm).

I just mailed my rebate for Enemy of the State today. Ask yourself this: is that little square really worth more than $10?

Has anyone tried sending in the rebates without an original reciept? I bought two of the movies with the PS3 and I don't want to give up my original reciept for the PS3.

Thanks

I personally don't think it's worth it. I'd hate to cut into my covers only to take my chances in actually getting the rebate approved.

Rebates are such a cluster fck!

They make you cut into your boxes/covers etc; require original receipts, takes friggin forever, and often it either gets rejected for bullshit reasons or never arrives.

I'm not using them myself. As to the why, I forgot about them.

And then checking through them... Not really interested in buying any of those movies.

[ those movies of course, being the movies pictures on the rebate coupons, not the movies they qualify for ... ]

Thanks
I usually ask for separate gift receipts when purchasing a large ticket item with other smaller items.

Me too. I analyze the movie, not the packaging.

I had no problem cutting them up. cut 'em all and let god sort 'em out. if it bothers u that much, cut the upc off a magazine and stick it back there. or copy the upc and stick the copy back there. just think: each rebate you use means more bd's you can buy.
