Just noticed on our local chain's website, the Marvel 10th anniversary marathon is budget priced: $6 per seat instead of the usual $16.

You can tell very easily when this happened. It wasn't AoE where Bay and his editors thought it was OK to alternating AR in the same scene...holy shit that was annoying and I saw that one at Tyson's AMC IMAX. The Last Knight had better and longer control over the AR switches. So he listened to the fans this time around....That I saw in both Digital Regal IMAX and Udvar. |

It's actually produced by IMAX themselves. I saw it back in April at the AMC Empire 25 IMAX (they gave it more of a limited release then, seems to be a wider release this weekend mixed in with showings of Mile 22 and Alpha), and it's a visually stunning and cute documentary, but barely anyone was there back then so don't seem how it would attract much of an audience now a few months later.

There are actually 4 IMAX releases this week. The Indian sports drama Gold started playing today in some U.S. locations as well.

Not to sound racist but there is an over population of Middle Easterners. There are Hispanics and Koreans here as well yet I have yet to see one Hispanic made movie in the area. The only one I know that plays any Asian movies is Regal Fairfax Town center.

Indian filmmakers either have very little understanding of what IMAX really means or they intentionally keep their movies letterboxed for IMAX. They think it's just a big screen with remastered picture. They don't realise that IMAX was supposed to be a really, really large screen with a really large aspect ratio (LIEMAX is nothing but a flat AR). All Indian DMR IMAX movies are 2.40:1. Actually 99.9 % of Indian movies today are in 2.40:1. It's a waste watching such movies on IMAX. However, most LIEMAX screens are very small and bring shame to the IMAX brand name. But studios (Holly, Bolly) don't care. They see financial potential and go the DMR route.

Here 2/4 IMAXes are doing Mile 22, and then one (at a theater which also has a Dolby playing Mile 22) is doing Alpha, with Pandas mixed in with a couple show times at all three. The last IMAX is showing Gold only (no Pandas) and again Mile 22 in its Dolby.
