I guess my point wasn't clear. You can't get an anamorphic/enhanced for 16X9 TV'S release of a Warner Bros. film that was done in 1.66:1 that is not out on Blu-ray.

American Gangster - 1.85:1
Baby Mama - 1.85:1
Courage Under Fire - 1.85:1
The Fly - 1.85:1 (this site says 2.35:1 but that is incorrect)
Kit Kittredge: An American Girl - 1.78:1
Kitaro - 1.85:1
Lonesome Dove - 1.78:1
Primal Fear - 1.78:1 (this site and many others say 1.85:1, but it shows up as 1.78:1 on my display)
Zack & Miri Make a Porno - 1.78:1 (same issue here)

Edit: Removed one already on the list that I didn't notice.
Thanks Deads3t and Shapiro for your contributions. I'll add 'em!
A SPECIAL thanks to QuasidodoJr for all the confirmations!!! You are awesome! You and those like you bring meaning and uniqueness to the list/thread with your physically seen confirmations! Again, thank you all!

Thanks for answering my question. If i known it were the animated one, I'd be sure that it was fullscreen. Most of the newer Marvel animated releases are fullscreen. Thanks again!

Yeah, I only recently found that out. When making this thread, I did simple google research on what aspect ratios would come out fullscreen on a 16x9(widescreen)display. What I found was 1.66-1.85. But apparently I was wrong this whole time and apparently the 1.66:1 are as you say, filling up the screen vertically but not horizontally. I wish to change the title name to make it 1.78-1.85 only, but don't know how. I posted up asking any admin to change it if I didn't have the authority, but nothing has changed. Maybe you can help...?

Thanks roberc88! It means a lot that you acknowledge and appreciate the efforts for it isn't quite easy. I'm always bombarded with the criticism of making and keeping up with this list/thread as well as organizing and keeping it updated. So it means a lot what you say here. I also wish to substantiate your last thought as well. I do wish that could be the case as well. I really don't understand why if it's so much hated and abhored that it can't just simply be ignored and brushed off and never pay it attention...

Thank you all again for contributing to the list and to the thread! Although maybe few, there are those (including me of course) who very much appreciate it!

Nothing wrong with 1.66:1. With overscan it might actually fill the screen, similar to 1.85:1. Or the vertical bars will be barely noticable.
1.66:1 was popular in europe some time ago. I have a lot of horror movies on DVD that are in that AR.

i for one appreciate this thread. i don't know why some people can't accept the fact that some would rather view movies without the black bars. it's just a preference of some and i don't understand why people get all up in arms about it.

I guess we're the only ones that would actually like to get the most out of our HDTV's.

WHOA! A BUNCH of contributions! Damn the email notifications of this thread...doesn't work all the time. I got no notification that there was any response on this. Anyways, THANKS guys;djluis2k6 again, ajmrowland, Uncle Leo, and ibra for your contributions! I'll be sure to add them.
P.S. You guys are making sure that you're not just telling me movies that are in 1.78-1.85.1 right? You have actually seen them in fullscreen right?

Yeah I never understood why either. I CAN understand why one may feel very strongly over the pros and cons between OAR and "butchered and stretched" just to fill a screen, BUT I can't understand why they totally condemn the very existance of this thread and insist that their preference is absolute and anyone contradicting is ignorant and doesn't really know what they should like and watch. Nevermind their personal preference

I've never come across a 1.66:1 so I wouldn't know how it looks. Thanks for letting me know. I've never really found a circumstance where the overscan feature would do more good than harm, but I can imagine it for this case. Thanks for the opinion. I'll keep the 1.66:1 most likely then.

OMG djluis2k6! WHAT A POST! You are the MAN!!!! It is really hard to believe that you went through all these bluray movies, saw that they were fullscreen, and then listed them! Now that's dedication/a contribution to the list! Alone, this list is enough of a collection, but if you have these movies AND MORE, my God, you'd have a very impressive collection!
Due to the volume of this list and then organizing/splicing it into the existing list, I'll probably add these later when I have the time but I wanted to give due credit already. So again, can't give enough thanks for the contribution. You've substantially added to the list and improved it/made it more accurate. Thanks!

After inputting the movies you had in your last list, I also have to give a big thank you for the simple extra act of organizing your contributions/list alphabetically. It made things A LOT easier. Thanks again. You rock !
