There's a lot of good info here that doesn't pop up in other discussion forums about this hobby (such as there are) and sometimes good discussion about movies (and discs!) manages to break out, and in those instances someone probably might think "this is probably worth wading into"

And then you pretty quickly find out it's like 35-40 of you guys who kinda swim around each other super-fast all day every day for the past decade and have your own weird vocabulary built up over that time and you get super tetchy about the weirdest shit pretty much all the time, like for example, how in the past like 3 or 4 pages actual discussion about the movie broke for a hot minute and now it's this again, LOL.

In between my getting asked the (I'm sure logical and even-handed to you, at the time) question as to whether I'm some prior person you guys have caught feelings over before and my answering it, a whole sketch comedy routine rooted in exactly what I'm talking about broke out, haha. No, I'm not a sock. I just post here at work when it's slow sometimes about movies/discs I'm interested in.

Events in 2049 are not relevant to the original Blade Runner. 2049 is a reboot made many, many years later, not truly a sequel. So if 2049 wants to imply Deckard is (or not) a replicant I just don’t consider it meaningful

I would’ve preferred a more faithful re-adaptation of Dick’s book than a pointless sequel to BR (and failed attempt to launch a franchise) that wasted Gosling’s talent.

That you percieve my commenting on it directly as someone you all, as a group of older people who live here, have excommuncated from what you clearly think of as the Physical Media Big Brother house; who is trying to orchestrate some clandestine get-back; vs what I am - someone from (waves vaguely at the unknowable void of the larger internet that's clearly not been ventured into by most here since Flash was discontinued) telling you guys that you go from "talkin movies" to "insular, angry, and fairly off-putting at high rates of speed" basically all the time!
