I re-watched this disc last night, but this time calibrated for HDR. I have to say, I think the HDR was very nicely implemented. The shadow details and highlights in general are rather pleasing. I paid a little more attention to the film grain and it does look a little more digital compared to some of the better 4K DI discs. Some have said because it's oversharpened a bit and perhaps that is the reason, not sure. I did spot several instances of swarmy video noise still mixed into the image, but I was able to not be terribly distracted by it. However, all in all I think this is a pretty nice disc even though it doesn't meet the upper echelon of releases.
I did revisit some of the 2007 BD theatrical version and that disc does hold up pretty well visually all things considered especially for an older Blu. |

UHD better not use any hardcoded DNR/EE. Especially not for BLADE RUNNER. |

If you got the disc with the alternate cuts instead of the "enhancement archive" dvd. I sold my unopened 5 disc digibook for space reasons after I got this so I was kinda glad they gave me the alt cuts, but now I have the features

I have the 4K disc of the Final Cut, the 1080P disc of the Final Cut, and a disc labeled, "Disc 2: Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner," and another labeled, "Disc 4: Archived." Is this what I'm supposed to have?

If your disc 4 is the enhancement archive then yours is correct

Was debating whether or not to keep my Purge Trilogy set, but I realize now it's a black UHD case with six hubs, so I'll probably keep it just to be able to have a proper case for Blade Runner. But unfortunately because it's a wider case, that means I won't be able to keep the slipcover on it

FWIW, I chose the default, cheapest option and they sent it in a tight fitting cardboard box. It arrived all nice and minty, no crushed corners or anything...and about a week before their predicted delivery date.
