I've wasted so much damn money on this one movie just to get the perfect package lol I swear to god. I'll never understand why Warner Bros. didn't just make this the package for the regular 4K release in the first place. 4 discs is 4 discs - why not just go with the ones that include literally everything instead of jerking your customers off?

I did not notice that one, you are even nitpickier than I am! It's incredibly similar and I believe the fade is actually there as it was before, but it appears as if the final note on the first cue has a sliiight drop-off at the very end which, coupled with the additional rain, makes it sound like a gap.

I'm still not a fan of this new mix, as when bitstreamed and played back as TrueHD 7.1 the music and effects are so overbearing as to drown out the dialogue, which of course makes all the changes stand out so much more. But I switched my player to PCM output as recommended and listed in 5.1 and it sounded much better balanced, significantly so.

I listen to everything in stereo and I didn't have any real problems with the dialogue, though looking at the waveforms the music and effects seem a bit louder in general, but it's not completely consistent (but that's again downmixed to stereo.) The really big loudness differences are with the newly added effects, in particular big "event" sounds like the elevator scene I posted. Another one is when the elevator lands as J.F. brings Pris up to his place, or when Leon rips up Chew's thermal coat, both which are crazy loud compared to previously.

By the way the 4K iTunes version has the 2007 mix.

Would have been much better had it been subtle like it is later in the scene, but they seem to have been hell-bent on making this mix the antithesis of subtlety.

So has WB resold any more of these with the correct packaging as explained in the original post? I'm not able to find this film anywhere in stores. I want to purchase this on Amazon but I'm not sure if those copies are the recalled ones or not. Plus, I've been reading that people have been getting defective copies or the wrong physical copy than they've ordered(vhs instead of blue ray for instance).

I managed to snag this from Best Buy for $18 + tax on December 18th of last year. I don't even know if I have the corrected discs since I literally have 5 or whatever various releases of this on multiple formats.
But according to the disc label artworks I have the correct ones.

Reminds me of all the whoosing and pulsing in Deck's apartment when he's at the Esper machine. The sound of the fan in the Holden scene is intended to be amped up to a noticeable thwump thwump thwump when Leon's under pressure with the 'tortoise' question, but now it's just there throughout because someone thought it would sound so coooool in the height channels I guess. In the Esper scene the sound effects should be dialled back as the image cuts closer and closer to Deck but nope, on the new mix they're buzzing away throughout the scene, along with that inexplicable change to the Esper's final 'zoom in' on Zhora.

How about the studio include the original untouched mix for those who want it? So fans don't have to jump through hoops creating their own versions.

But it is the original untouched mix for the BLADE RUNNER: The Final Cut version of the film. You'd also need to have 4K remasters for the four remaining official cuts of the film then if you want the original untouched mix for those too.
