Ok, I just now (finally) got around to ordering the 4k Special Edition DigiPack from Amazon UK.

Now I pray that it arrives in my eagerly awaiting hands with no issues, and the discs cause me no playback problems.

I have had the regular US 4k release for a while now, and LOVE the final cut so much that I felt I HAD to pony up and get the version with all of the different cuts of this masterpiece.

To say I'm excited is an understatement!!!

So there are 4K versions of the other cuts ?

No, the US version omits the 2007 disc with the other cuts on it, while the UK version includes the consolidated 2012(?) disc with all the cuts on it. The Final Cut is the only version available in UHD right now.

It is indeed the 1982 film which was to be released before studio execs stepped in and forced Harrison Ford to do voice work. Let's stop pretending that all "Director's Cuts" (or "final" cuts) are created equal.

Sigh. Just no. The Final cut version is still not a (2007) film, though... Just like Star Wars is still a 1977 film despite being a different cut now on home video.

A work print is a prototype isn't it?

Specifically, the BR workprint was screened for test audiences by Warner. I'm not aware the Scott or any of the actual artists involved in creating the film would suggest that the prototype was complete.

Finally, you are being intellectually dishonest. The Final Cut is the film that Scott intended back in 1982. It's not some revisionist crap like the late 90s Star Wars.

And they don't have the 1977 and other copyrights on them anymore...
It's also revisionist that in many countries you can only buy the final cut on any format.

There is one version of this film and it is the cut which would have hit theaters in 1982. The workprint was not the theatrical release. This is a fact. The actual theatrical release was sabotaged by useless executives based on feedback from random people after screening the prototype ("workprint"). Every cut in between has nothing to do with 1982 or the Director and other artists who created the film. We have the 1982 film and it was simply released many years too late.

It's technically the director's cut with added CGI, a bit more violence, some hockey masked dancers and a bucket of teal.

It's more workprint than the "Directors Cut" but only slightly.

Nah there's way too many different camera angles and music in the workprint.

Speaking of which... It's surreal as hell watching the finale with Jerry Goldsmith's Planet Of The Apes score blasting out in the background.

Sure, it's not the workprint beat for beat but as far as 'comparing the Final Cut to [whatever] version' is concerned it's closer to the workprint than any of the others.
