That Japanese regular cover looks so much better. I like the US cover as a poster, not so much as a case. But 56 bucks is way too expensive just for cover art. We'll see if it drops closer to release.

"may not be" all but guarantees Disc 4 is the re-purposed DVD. Disc 3 however

It depends on whether WB is taking old disc stock from the original release or if they are including a brand new BD disc.

Unforgiven's UHD Blu-ray release did have an (at least for now) exclusive new 1080p BD struck from the same 4k remaster as the UHD Blu-ray. Don't know about B.R. however.

It states on the back cover Dolby True HD 5.1... And it also has the same audio tracks as the current VC-1 codec Blu-Ray.

Doesn't mean they won't upgrade to an AVC transfer, but with the evidence at hand,I don't think it will be any different to the current 1080pBD release.
From what I have read, the film was originally transferred at 4K for the original HD DVD/BD release, so no plans for a new BD transfer, most likely.

However, I hope it will be a new AVC codec on the accompanying 1080pBD and on a BD-50 (only BD-25 at the moment ).

Would be nice to have a new transfer for Blade Runner, as they did it for Unforgiven (as FilmFreakosaurus has pointed out ).

I think the point with Unforgiven is that the Blu in the 4K pack was an upgrade on both counts, stemming from a new 4K transfer AND it had lossless audio vs the old Blu-ray's DD 5.1.

But Blade Runner Final Cut's Blu-ray - as old as it is - is already derived from the 4K master and it already has lossless audio. You've got precisely two hopes of a remastered BD disc: Bob Hope and no hope, and Bob done left town.

Hmm. I certainly hope Disc 3 and 4 aren't just the old DVDs. The 3-disc 30th anniversary re-release transferred all of the the same extras onto a single BD. So why not include that instead? Just because they didn't want to include the Workprint? Including the original DVDs also means we lose the still galleries exclusive to 30th anniversary release.

I agree, as unless they've actually re-encoded Dangerous Days into HD then it's a bit of a piss-take to put the DVDs in there. But perhaps they didn't want to include the 30th anni disc because then people would moan that the FC is in there, the workprint is there, so what about the other 'archival' version disc too? I get the feeling that Warners want to keep this release purely Final Cut-centric and the other editions will be included on some fancier edition down the line.

I’ve seen mention of a 4K trailer twice now. Where are you guys seeing it? I’ve only checked YouTube cause I figured that’s the only place it would show up in 4K but no dice.
