PQ: A very filmic transfer, generally hauntingly beautiful, but not without its source issues.
This film was apparently shot with very shallow focus, so much of the time only a portion of a face is in focus.
There are many such shots throughout the film. There also are quite a lot soft shots, meaning the focus puller was asleep. Other than that, it looks very filmic, whereas the old BD was noisy, here you have nicely resolved grain.
The layer of grain ranges from very fine to quite distracting. Most of the time it's rather nice, acually, but there are scenes where the graininess becomes annoying, to me at least. Contrast is hot, so whites are very bright, and blacks are super inky. Colours are beautifully rendered here. Skin tones as well. I didn't notice any compression-artifacts at all, which is great. I am sure the sometimes crushed shadow detail is a stylistic choice, and it looks appropriate.
It's a very moody picture, with lots of smoke, light beams, steam, etc., which diffuses the image. Resolution detail is glorious for sure. Many scenes look almost 3 dimensional. The Tyrell complex looks stunningly epic.
I am giving it a 4/5 for its source shortcomings, which may aggrevate some, but this is how I feel.
If I were to rate it on how good of a presentation of the source it is, I'd probably give it a 4.90/5.

AQ: Amazing. So many discrete surround effects, which makes for a highly immersive audio experience. The music is rendered impeccably too. The Vagelis soundtrack has never sounded better.
Only some dialogue does sound a bit muffled at times and betray the film's age, but it's a minor gripe. Atmospherics, such as rain are just outstanding. I don't have Atmos, so can't judge the height speaker sound.
Bass is suitably powerful, and has its moments. A terrific track.
4.5/5

The rain and thunder as well as effects in the Bradbury at or near the end are some of the best I've heard in Atmos.

So good news and bad news. A friend gave me this for my birthday day, but I just opened it and it's missing Disc 3. I have the UHD disc, Disc 1, which is a BD version of the movie, and then Discs 2 and 4, which are DVDs. He bought it from Amazon, but I feel like he got scammed as there is nothing on the package about there being DVDs and clearly Disc 3 is missing.

Also, are theatrical and director's cuts intentionally missing? It seems odd that they would leave out versions of the movie that came with the anniversary digibook version.

Yes WB only included the Final Cut when you bought the 4K UHD Blu-ray.

That's correct for the U.S. set.

Intentionally not included.

They really should have changed the disc art for the DVDs.

Yeah, because that seems quite annoying. I was ready to have him ship it back for a new copy. God that is so dumb. Why don't they at least state such on the case?

In fact, why are the DVDs included with my 4K copy at all? Why not give me the BD bonus feature disc from the digibook instead of outdated technology?

Thanks btw.

The set that should have been the standard one to begin with.

There's different sets? I only saw the one when I was looking for it on Best Buy, Target, and Amazon.

If you click the lip tire you’ll find out it’s a British set.

Ah, okay, then that wouldn't have done me any good anyway. Thanks.

WB is just lazy.

A friend who buys you Blade Runner on UHD is a friend indeed.

There is this Japanese release that is only the 3 alternate cuts on a single Blu-ray disc.

Though, I would imagine the UK 4K set, or the old 2007 5 disc set is cheaper and easier to find.

I guess what I'll need to do is hope someone makes a 6 disc holder 11mm case for UHD so I can put my two bonus discs from the digiboook version in there. Well that or I replace the DVD discs with those ones since they're teh same thing, just without the additional cuts, right?

I don't think it's physically possible to fit six discs into an 11mm case.
