The Final Cut is the only version I can watch now. I'm not into revisionism, but the stunt double with the big hair and the dove flying away HAD to be fixed. I'm glad the Blu-ray has 5 different versions, so you can pick which one you like best. |

I got that part. But there's absolutely no chemistry between the two is what I'm talking about. I was not convinced that the liked each other.

I disagree, I think it was choreographed perfectly in the final act. Roy knew exactly what he was doing and Deckard was the desperate prey.

Just because those scenes were violent doesn't necessarily mean they needed action choreography. Deckard has an ugly, unpleasant job to do. It would seem cheapened to me if his retirements were 'awesome'.

I love the look here, all the way from Deckard entering the Bradbury building, making his way up the stairs, entering the room, seeing the dolls, not knowing one is a replicant. There is tremendous buildup here and I find that scene pretty creepy. Perhaps you're short-selling it by singularly focusing on the fight itself. For further feelings, I will refer to notops reply a few posts earlier. Keep in mind the lines between who's a bad guy and a good guy are kinda blurred in Blade Runner. Otherwise, it is perfectly reasonable the movie left you colder than others.

When you see them together (especially the scenes in Deckard's apartment), remember that she is a replicant and has strong and conflicting emotions about her self (as she becomes aware of what she is). She also feels a certain bond with Deckard, for various possible reasons left to the viewer, but could be because she sees him as a liberator (or at least teacher, given how he knows her memories). Also, she possibly senses that he too is something of an orphaned soul. At this point, we're getting into the core of Deckard's character and the heart of the story, more of which is revealed in 2049... but it involves his own conflicting drives and impulses. All of this is debatable, but what is clear is that this is no conventional romance. Remember, this is science fiction. Chris |

I've watched Blade Runner at least 50 times, both theatrical and home video and I can honestly say I still see new things after each viewing, there is so much visual data in each scene.
