I would also add the addition of HDR gave me the impression the UHD disc will be superior screening experience to the Sony 4K Studio presentation sans HDR that I saw last week, and that a quick peek at the VUDU Dolby Vision/Atmos was none too shabby on the visual side, but naturally a big drop off on the audio side. |

What's done is done. I wasn't happy with BB but I'm mostly dissatisfied with Warner. Simply put, cant sell something to a customer if the distributor doesn't give it to you! |

Wish I would have preordered this one. I'll see if anyone will have this in stock later, maybe Black Friday or something. If this had the original narration as well, I would have snagged this in a heartbeat. Sorry, but I'm a sucker for the narrated version.

Amazon came through for me on this one today. This version looks stunning and I saw and heard things in this film that I hadn't ever noticed before. Just wish Dangerous Days would have been in HD. It would have put this set over the top for me.

About to watch mine as I have the day off tomorrow and can stay up a bit late. Will confirm that I got Discs 1, 2, and 3 of the 2007 edition. But I have the DVD VK Briefcase and the 3 Disc digibook so I'm not really all that worried about it. I've never listened to this in lossless before so I'm going to crank my system up to 11 for this one.

I got two BDs and Dangeorus Days. No bonus DVD. No problem for me as I already own the 25th and 30th Anniversary editions.
My Best Buy only had ONE copy. I was lucky to be at the store before someone else grabbed it. Very lucky. This is a damn good disc. From the very first shot of the Ladd company logo, I could see a remarkable differeance as someone who's owned the film on BD for nearly a decade. The way the tree image loads looks so much sharper and the green feels appropriately vibrant. The fire and neon lights and neo-noir highlights on actors faces look brilliant, in many shots the skin texture is almost distractingly well-rendered, and a fine layer of grain is present in every shot. And the Dolby Atmos track... oh my. I don't even have Atmos, but even the TrueHD core track sounds even better than the original lossless track on the BD. My only problem is WB's crappy menu with those tacky buttons seemingly designed for the elderly and infants. But I'll take a quick loading generic menu over Sony's UHD catastrophe. WB could have given us a much better presentation... but what is most important for a triple dip like this is the A/V and they've knocked it out the park. One of my favorite films isn't finally one of my favorite UHDs as well. It isn't quite as bright and colorful as Pacific Rim, as crystal clear as Lucy or The Revenant, but this is the way Blade Runner should look. The only improvement I can imagine is DolbyVision but if that was in consideration we'd likely need to wait for the 40th Anniversary. |

I got the archival cuts disc instead of the other DVD, which is fine with me since I have the 25th Anniversary edition on Blu-ray (and HD-DVD).
But the important thing here is: Wow, that transfer. Warner Bros. really made this one count. The video and audio are stunning, and frankly, I think this is gonna be my new go to demo disk. I think the 2007 Blu-ray holds up really well, but this is a night and day difference. The upgrade in detail, the bump in color clarity, the soundtrack, just everything is stunning. This is a must-have if you're a fan. You've probably already bought the film a bunch of times anyways, what's one more? |

What are the chances i'll get one with three blu-ray discs and no DVD?
I actually want that version rather than one with a DVD. Going to order one through Target and see what I get. Going to cancel that overtly expensive UK set while i'm at it. |

Loved it, I knew as soon as I saw the crisp opening credits this was going to be a treat!
Thanks Amazon, you have restored a bit of my faith in you And to who ever put the wrong disk in, thank you too The UHD Dolby Vision / Atmos Digital Copy was also a nice surprise (redeemed at vudu) The Vudu app from the Roku does not play in HDR/UHD (other titles have the same issue) BUT running the app thru the Chromecast Vudu app from the iPhone does indeed play in DV and Atmos ![]() Last edited by Pgcmoore; 09-06-2017 at 07:00 AM. |

"Finest quality, superior workmanship" a woman observes in BLADE RUNNER -- and that's exactly what Warner Bros. has delivered here. You know how you hope this disc will look? Well guess what -- it looks better than that.
I've seen this movie several times -- starting in 1982 -- and can say this is the best it's ever looked, in theaters or out. Joenostalgia is exactly right when he says as soon as the Ladd Company logo hits the screen you can tell something much improved has arrived. And lets cut right to the chase... ... that famous close-up shot on Sean Young smoking while she's taking the test from Harrison Ford is freaking breathtaking. The 65mm footage looks tremendous of course -- I expected that -- but so does basically everything else. Footage that was previously grungy -- under-exposed shots of Tyrell, for example -- are still grainy here. But that's the way those shots have always looked, and thank heavens no one at WB tried to "fix" them. The grain structure is very tight, very finely resolved, and very welcome. And all those shots inside the Bradbury, pitch darkness balanced against bright beams of light, are rendered in perfect dynamic range. Pure cinema on display here. This is not a subtle upgrade over the standard blu ray, this is a revelation. |
