I wasn't happy when the Austin Powers trilogy came in those slim cases. It stands out amongst my collection, and not in a good way. I've considered scanning the cover arts and giving them proper spines so that they will fit in standard blu-ray cases... but then I have to toss the box. Either way I agree with the OP, I like my stuff to have a uniform look to it. I don't like those slip covers for that very reason (well... and the simple fact that they're COMPLETELY pointless), but with movies like Transformers or Iron Man you can't even toss them because then you've got no title on your cover!

I'm also one of the crazies who don't like the digibooks or collector's set boxes so I have yet to buy Casablanca and The Matrix. The answer to this goofy problem is custom covers. I already bought blu-ray cases and just need to print out a couple of custom covers. Problem Solved!

They rather show off their collection than actually watch the movie imo.
How could a case being slightly larger than some of your other movies put you off from buying your favorite movies? Seriously. ![]() Are you a movie fan or a anal unified boxart fan? lol... Last edited by drtre81; 04-01-2009 at 03:19 AM. |

The reason I hate digibooks is the suckers don't really close. Suppose I pull it or a movie next to it out and it falls to the floor. There's a chance the impact could make the movie pop out and get dirty. I don't like being extra careful everytime I pull the Notebook off its shelf inside my cabinet.

why didn't you just post your opinion in the thread already created today since your OP was obviously in response to it
![]() https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=93247 anyways...i like them. i think it's a cool way to showcase a selection of truly great movies (still not sure how "falling down" got in there tho ![]() Last edited by Sussudio; 04-01-2009 at 03:25 AM. |

Now I will tell you, since you asked, that a digibook doesn't keep me from buying a movie I like. But because I like keeping my discs fairly unified, I will in all my "anal retentive intensity" go out of my way to remove the disc from its unholy digibook, print a custom cover, put it into an empty "regular" blu -ray case and VOILA!! Problem solved. I did this with Shawshank Redemption. |

I also believe you can have both.
I have 83 blus and some have come in packaging that I don't much care for. I like to have all them in standard blu cases, but it doesn't stop me from buying. For example: Baraka - Problem: Horible paper case that recks the disc Solution: Printed custom cover, put in normal case Band of Brothers - Problem: Don't like big steel case Solution: Took 5-disc case from Blade Runner, put disc one of Blade Runner in a custom cover single blu case, printed a custom cover for Band of Brothers, put the 5 episode discs in there, and stored the remaining disc for BofB and BR in a safe place. Matrix Trilogy - Problem: Thinpacks suck Solution: Printed trilogy custom cover, used 3-disc case that Bolt came in, printed custom cover for Animatrix and stored it with the bonus disc in a double case * Planning to do the same with the Austin Powers Trilogy Shawshank Redemption - Problem: Don't like digibooks Solution: Printed custom cover, used normal case So, it IS possible to have the best of both worlds. I've never not bought a movie because of it's packaging! ![]() |

lol is that so? every response I've seen to people hating digibooks has been along the lines of "it looks weird next to my other blu's?...which makes it seem like the case being uniform is more important than the actual movie itself and that's pretty absurd.
