Smile Avid Unwraps "All-New" Media Composer Editing System for Hollywood

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/be...lywood-1199968

Quote:
Avid reported that this editing system will include a new user interface, engine, and – important for Hollywood—will have the ability to output various flavors of deliverables, with resolutions including 4K, 8K and even 16K; HDR capabilities including Dolby Vision; immersive sound including Dolby Atmos; stereoscopic 3D; and with IMF (Interoperable Mastering Format) support. Through an agreement with the Motion Picture Academy, it will also support ACES (Academy Color Encoding System) for color management, a recent development that came out of the Academy’s Science & Technology Council.

Avid also got cheers when it announced distributed rendering capabilities, which could help make facilities more efficient.
Ok Penton-Man, is this truly a big deal?

Ha. Thanks, if that's the right word. Sedation is available as a last resort but they don't like doing it and you're not allowed to drive afterwards if you have that.

That avid video - does it really need the heavy rock music?!

New HBO Shows - SNL - YouTube
That video above is not available in my country (I live in Canada, just above USA, up North).
_____

Extra: Before the first broadcast Beatles on Ed Sullivan's show in February 1964, the Beatles were broadcasted live on BBC televisions in December 1963.

"The Beatles' first televised appearance was a live performance and wasn't recorded so the footage from that October in 1962 remains only in viewers' memories. They appeared on their first national British broadcast a few months later, in January 1963."

No HDR yet back then. Tubes were still popular, and round corners. No flat TVs yet, they were all curved; Samsung tried to bring them back ...

Post #8961 is a long one (video). You need nerves of chrome steel to watch it in its entirety.

Here's one that you can easily float in space watching it and come back intact from the other side ...

Today is an even more splendid spring day.

Where's the regulars with NAB updates? I see there was a big announcement today of 40 markets aiming for end of 2020 for Atcs 3.0 change over.

Just look @ FOX news....Twitter, Facebook, just look @ Instagram for all the beauty queens.

I don't believe one drop of all what I'm reading. They all fight for money, for skin, for a spotlight.
today someone PM’ed me this pic - https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv7dFOmg6Z8/

Tom was not at that location (appears to me like Harbor and Kettner) anytime around that posted time span, the pictured person is a look-a-like.
