I have to admit I’ve never heard of that ^ franchise before, so then I googled ‘YouTube Carry On Dick’
Seems you guys do have a long tradition of doing it.

I saw this online the other day... https://www.hdfury.com/enjoy-dynamic...hdr10-display/ ...and it got me thinking. Does this allow for forcing Dolby Vision output to non Dolby Vision displays? Meaning allow Dolby Vision output but then converting it to HDR10? I'm not totally understanding this piece of gear. With the poor HDR10 presentations on some Studio Canal titles, I wonder if something like this could be used with 4K home projectors which do not support DV to provide a better presentation.

What they are doing is forcing the player-led or 'low latency' DV mode out of the players. What this mode does is conduct the tone mapping and 12-bit DV rebuild inside the player, not in the TV, so basically it outputs a pre-mapped 'HDR12' signal. It's not as good as the TV-led DV processing because it's less specific to the exact capabilities of the display and is more of a generic mapping, but it can still be as good as or better then the internal HDR10 processing of whatever display. As long as the display device can show a 12-bit HDR signal then it can show this spoofed DV output, although projektor owners have needed to put a custom profile on their display IIRC. Not sure too many owners of direct-view flat panel displays have done this yet.

Wolfwalkers — Official Trailer l Apple TV+ - YouTube
Kid watched Soul. Liked it. This wolfwalker (thank you for posting the actual video and not cryptic links) isn't my cup o' tea. Now give it an R rating, throw in werewolf carnage, high body count and boobs and I'm in. You know, all the stuff that makes a movie great.
[Show spoiler]

Wabs, I emailed a prop guy friend with a request if/when he gets the time to lay out your weapons of choice ^ and send me a pic for visual illustration. He said he doesn’t have any flamethrower in the dept.

As filmmaking is largely about making (and saving) money – Agent Kay may recall ‘Island Plaza’ (IP) - https://variety.com/2017/film/news/c...it-1202504202/ <- the top dog
non-cryptic visual illustration for Wabo’s sake - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...k#post16844182

just published, more tax credits for independent productions - https://film.ca.gov/wp-content/uploa...eport-2020.pdf

While Tom is in Rome, Italy, working for/with Paramount movie studios ...
Dolby Vision/HDR10+ Grading ...

Two more days and we're starting a new decade; hope it'll be a united one.
...On all fronts, not just on HDR video standards and best practice by all movie studios.
Hope for the best ...after January 2021.

It's short for I Just Watch The Movie i.e. the people who waded into the LOTR 'discussion' to say that we're all nerds for dissecting the picture quality, how can you enjoy it when nitpicking everything etc etc. Same old shit that happens whenever people dare to question the wisdom of the "pro review" fraternity but I've not seen it get as vitriolic as that in quite some time.

And I’ll ask him to present them to you, not laying on his bare naked desk or a regular piece of microfiber, but rather placed carefully on Professional Grade Premium microfiber.

Was reading comments on YouTube videos that were showing these off. Seen a few Samsung owners talking about using these.

Samsung tvs have a major incompatibilty issue with Netflix and Amazon with their dimming systems. I just ordered this yesterday off Amazon with prime, gonna see if that different Metadata will engage the dimming to work properly.
