Does WB and I guess the other studios, have dedicated teams(experienced) only working on the much older "classic" films and other teams working on the newer movies? Is this common practice seeing that it takes a lot more work to bring an oldie to blu?

Yes, they have a seperate archival team that takes care of the library.

Does that team include animation under their duties or is there as separate animation department for that?

I don't know specifically, but I would assume that Looney Tunes and the MGM cartoon library are covered. The 90s stuff would probably not be

I just hope The Iron Giant is given proper treatment when it's released. Warner only puts lossy on most of their animation titles, so I'm a bit worried.

You think it'll get a release this year, since it's the 10th anniversary?

Iron Giant SE came out a year or more earlier in Asia, I think they'll hold it back to tie in with Brad Bird's 1908, or even his next Pixar project. The audience for the movie skews very adult.

I hope WB is smart enough this time to give it the treatment it deserves.

Hey Jeff,

I was just wondering if their was any chance of Wolfgang Peterson's Air Force One being released by Columbia or Sony in the US on Bluray in the future. I know it has seen a Bluray release in the UK a year or two ago and was just wondering if we would see one here in the near future.

With Lonney Tunes, what are the chances that we may see a Golden Collection on Blu, since there up to I think vol. 5 that means its doing well on dvd, maybe that be a sign for blu? But if that would happen would they start with vol. 1 or 6?

Nothing about US Air Force One. If you want it, just import it, the Disney disc is just fine

Nothing in the cards for Looney Tunes. Robin Hood and March of the Penguins both have HD LT on them though

Agree 100%. And they wonder why the ratings have dropped so low. How about nominating a few movies that people actually go and see.

Isnt it a Beuna Vista release in the Uk? so i dont think there's much fox can do about it... import it from Austrailia - ezydvd or dvdcrave... probably cost you less that buying it when it is released in uk..

Its not the movies they nominated are bad, but they need to start showing some variety and give new genre's a chance.

Because actors and directors don't factor in ratings when they make their choice. I am quite certain that when Martin Scorsese lists his top 5 BP choices, he isn't thinking "now which films could I choose to help ABC's ratings."

Voters individually write down their top 5 picks for Best Picture, in order, and because it is such a weighted process, normally only the top 1 or 2 picks count in determining the eventual nominees. TDK was probably in alot of top 5 lists, but how many voters put it #1 or #2? Apparently, not enough.
