It doesn't appear as if any localized Blu-ray stuff has appeared in Brazil yet - only US imports. Do you have a link to a specific title you are looking for?

I am interested in "Casino" on blu-ray. It was on the import list as a Brazilian release.

Oh. If you were talking about my Universal list (which I have since deleted - too much work for not enough information) then yes, it is possible it will be out in Brazil at some point, but not now. You can check on individual titles by searching them in IMDB and clicking on Company Credits. For Casino, it is as follows:

Quote:
* MCA/Universal Pictures (1995) (USA) (theatrical)
* Argentina Video Home (Argentina) (video)
* CIC Video Ltd. (????) (UK) (VHS)
* CIC Vídeo (Brazil) (VHS)
* CIC-Taft Home Video (Australia) (VHS)
* Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment (1999) (Germany) (DVD)
* Columbia TriStar (Brazil) (DVD)
* Filmes Lusomundo (Portugal)
* MCA (????) (USA) (video)
* United International Pictures (UIP) GmbH (1996) (Germany) (theatrical)
* United International Pictures (UIP) (1996) (Argentina) (theatrical)
* United International Pictures (UIP) (1996) (Switzerland) (theatrical)
* United International Pictures (UIP) (1996) (France) (theatrical)
* United International Pictures (UIP) (1996) (UK) (theatrical)
* United International Pictures (1996) (Spain) (theatrical)
* Universal Pictures (2005) (Germany) (DVD)
* Universal Studios Home Video (1998) (USA) (DVD)
You will see that Columbia TriStar (Sony) owns distro of this film in Brasil, which is why I said it would definitely be out in Brazil - at some time.

Default Let the Good Times Roll - The Cars

Well I went on a hunting trip last night and found my prey. As last time I had found my most difficult title to get at Circuit City, I decided to go there accompanied with my trusty partner, Bond Girl. Well, I got a strange tale to tell, similar to last time's (Post 31).

When I got there, I couldn't see any new releases except for Saw III on display. I thought "damn, either I'm too late and the few copies sold out this morning, or CC didn't get the new releases, o noe". But then Bond Girl started digging-in and showed me a copy of AVP behind some old titles, then another, and another, I too started digging in, like a crazy Indiana Jones, also finding more of the new releases, ALL hidden behind the old titles. In the end, we found ALL of this week's new Studio releases were there. Just put in the last slots behind 5 or 10 old title copies in each row of the racks. So me and Bond Femme dug them out and put them in the front. All new titles (well except for Saw III which there were lots of copies) Hidden out of View. On release day. So apparently unless there's one rogue employee in the Best Buy and one in Circuit City (well truth is stranger than fiction sometimes!), looks like there's some desperate person in this city who's life feels rewarded by going onto stores and hiding BD new releases on launch day. Maybe it is because the CC seems to not be carrying dark red cased discs anymore? At least I couldn't see any, but I wasn't looking for them.

Or maybe it was because with this week's new releases Blu-ray has taken the lead in number of High Definition titles available and this had to be hidden at all costs ;D

*thinks of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6

Saw II didn't have a slipcase but Saw III had one. Nice to see the Sensorround stickers in some of the Fox titles, like AVP and Courage Under Fire. With this week's releases, all Paramount titles are in BD. Here's another interesting tidbit: The Disney titles, Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy and Chicago are region free (have Region A, B, and C symbols on the case) while Casanova is A. (Didn't check the Guardian as I didn't buy it). I even bought two titles I hadn't planned on, just overtaken by seeing so many new releases on one day, and since it was a special occasion (B > H) we had been waiting for so long.

After our successful mission, Bond Lady and I went to celebrate the auspicious moment and I had a Blu-colored drink, twirled, not stirred
