With "The Thing" prequel coming out in April of next year, what are the chances Universal re-releases an updated version of the original? I didn't care for the current version since it was crammed on a BD25 and the great 80 minute documentary "Terror Takes Shape" was spliced up into their picture-in-picture feature.

Are the MGM titles owned by Turner still owned by Turner? Would Turner be the one distributing the restored Ben-Hur on Blu? Or did Ted Turner get out of the classic film business? Who was paying for the restoration, and is it finished?

Who knows, Indy could be a nice strong Spring '11 release. I mean, why not? Lots of players and PS3s will be sold in the next 2 months.

I was under the impression they were fast tracking Indy 5 for 2012. If that changed, then maybe your idea of Spring 2011 will work.

I remember back during the format war we used to get a fairly big "catalog" release around May. And if we go back to the DVD days, late August used to be a "big name catalog" window for Paramount (Braveheart, Titanic, Gump).

WB owns Turner, and therefore the Turner library just like Oz or Gone With The Wind. When MGM distributed through WB, they let MGM handle the titles

Anything MGM pre-1982 (or is it 83?) is now WB

'85 I believe, since 2010 was late '84.

Actually, War Horse will be released first. Spielberg is already shooting that one.

Yes, I know. War Horse is in post-production. I'm talking about his next project, starting from scratch, is Robo.

Just FYI you can get Platoon right now from Korea. MGM has probably half a dozen, including Poltergeist 2 and 3 thar are out overseas.

almost everything, Some of the stuff, Like Bond remained with MGM.

Gettysburg will likely end up in WB's digibook line at some point, but with 2013 being the 150th anniversary I figure they'll hold the line for that.

That would be a great choice for the Digibook treatment. I hope that they finally release the 6hr 30min long director's cut of Gods and Generals at the same time.

I don't know why so many people hold it being too much like Fallout 3 against it. It certainly is just like Fallout 3 but the experience is still as fun as ever.

The only knock I have against it are the bugs. There are too many of them, which is why I recommend picking it up when it goes on sale.

Either way it is very much worth playing if you enjoyed Fallout 3 in the slightest.

I'm really looking forward to Ben hur and citizen Kane
Blu-rays I heard a rumor of warner releasing singing in the rain and
The wright stuff also

Ok seeing as All the other studios with the exception of MGM who
Hopefully once they get the funding will pump out titles again .
Remembering they where still realeasing titles in there state of affairs
And they have always been fond on blu- ray so hopefully there bigger titles like great escape , 12 angry men , some like it hot , west side story will get lovely releases

....

But seeing as paramount has almost stripped out there dreamworks lot are
They going to start releasing there catalog classics. ? I heard rumors of once upon a time in the west and Chinatown got ages ,
And next year is the anniversary of breakfast at tiffanies , not to mention they
Have big titles like sunset blvd and rosemarys baby also
What's the story guys ?

On another note the bbfc just re-classified pumpkin head threw lionsgate
Which usually means a blu-ray

Well, that's probably the first time Pumpkinhead joins those films anywhere

I know of at least one you should see in the next 6 months. That's about all I'm willing to say at this point. Money is tight, and certainly if they get MHM itll only be good for their catalog effort. Not that Fox has been a bad partner either
