Anyway, one of the reasons why the prices may still be high is because the prices you see today on the shelves were already decided months before they released it. It's the same with books. They decide what the price is ahead of the time. So the dollar parity may take some time to influence the upcoming releases. Just look at PS3, it's now on par with the US prices. |

Anyone noticed what appears to be our A friend posting at Ars Technica? http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/...u=300003844831 Of course, it probably cannot be him, as he refers to MS as "they" in his postings, which curiously are all on MS or MS's competitor related topics. BB |

I know that for us in Canada the PS3 price is equal to the US price (our dollar is officially stronger, yay!!) But for virtually everything else, there is 15-30% markup. Unless its something small (where the difference only ends up being a few dollars anyways) im gonna stick to online shopping from us websites. I know exchange rates take a while to be reflected in market prices, but for crying out loud our dollar has been 90cents US or higher for the whole year, so their's no excuse for such markups. Case in point, My sony STR-DG910 is $650 retail here and $500 retail in the states. Sorry that was a bit of a rant.

Would it be possible to make the PSP into a "Pronto"-type remote (but without the Touch Screen)? That would be very cool. ![]() Last edited by degas; 10-23-2007 at 05:28 PM. |

It is still undecided whether I will be able to attend.
The Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion is on Friday. I’m not sure I will have recovered in time, if previous events with the Kandy girls are indicative of future happenings. For past pics from there………. click on Karma Kandyland (middle of the page) to get an idea of the Bunny House inhabitants and make sure you take your heart medication for viewing later photos once the alcohol kicked in. http://www2.thekarmafoundation.com/P...9/Default.aspx |

If this is the wrong area to post this subject, please advise. Thank you.
On 10/9/07 I posted a similar thread here with no response. Something is going on with Amazon.com's Blu-ray supply source for certain titles. You can't even pre-order some "coming soon" titles anymore. "The Polar Express (Blu-ray)' is released 10/30/07, next Tuesday and you can't order it on the site. The same for "I, Robot (Blu-ray)- due 11/13," "Independance Day - Due 12/4", "Ronin - Due 12/4" and others that all were announced months ago. Amazon still has my pre-order of 2001: A Space Odyssey (Blu-ray) listed as an "open order", where the HD DVD is listed as "In Stock" and just last week I received "Twilight Zone: The Movie" (Blu-ray) a week late when it was out day & date. Paul Edit: 10/25/07 "Independance Day" (Blu-ray) has now become available to pre-order at Amazon.com. Last edited by Paul H; 10-25-2007 at 09:52 PM. Reason: Updated post |

It's fine if you can't keep the function for BD-J titles, if you can remember that there are some of those like us, maybe one day it will become possible. ![]() thanks gandalf ![]() |
