It would still say that with a 1080i disk because the player itself would deinterlace it,no?
Do you have Planet Earth (a confirmed 1080i disk yet still reference quality) to try?

Absolutely! The thread of the day is Micheal Bay! I guess Paramount can't keep him at bay and this forum lets him have his say!

This has absolutely nothing to do with Blu-ray, but everything about how Microsoft spreads lies and FUD. You may recognize the same tactics with AMIR and his fellow MS fudders.

Penton-Man: This has nothing to do whatsoever with high def or Blu-ray, but since you give so much of your time to us, I thought it only proper to return the favor on a topic that is (as regular readers of this thread may be aware) near and dear to your heart.

The Warner US BBC Planet Earth is 1080p running at 24fps speed.

I can not really say how much it disturbs me that people honestly believe that Pirates AWE would be 1080i..
I would like to know if our insiders know if anything will be said or done about it.

So the Discovery channel one is 1080i?

Anyway, my question is a valid one.
On 1080i material a blu player will still output @ 1080p, correct?
BTW, my copy of Pirates 3 looks great so I really don't care if its 1080p or not.

No, I think it is currently rare (or maybe even nonexistent) for Blu-ray players to internally deinterlace 1080i to 1080p. The PS3 doesn't, for example. It outputs 1080i as 1080i.

ON behalf of most of us here - thank God.
We'd much rather you spent your time working on MORE titles rather than re-releasing titles with a feature only 10% of buyers will utilize with any sort of frequency.

Perhaps Mr. White and Amir attended the same MS off-site.

Nice, Very Nice.
I can just imagine the look on my neighbors’ faces if I ever brought Maya home one day.

The author is a truly unique, caring and sensitive individual.
Thanks again. Another reason why I enjoy this forum is that it is special in the sense that we are one Big Blu Family and exhibit a camaraderie seldom expressed on other forums centered around audio/video topics where they generally spend much more time fighting each other than they do helping each other.

Here’s Maya imitating the Ferrari logo while she’s leaping over a baby Red Diamond Rattlesnake in the vegetation at dusk……………

Based on the first article to come out of the High Def 2.0 Forum, it looks like a bummer. Analysts predict a stalemate, 55:45 split in 2012. Say it ain't so, insiders, say it ain't so.

Woah...here is my Maya:

And if you look closely at my avatar, it's not Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen , or Felipe Massa driving - it's Maya.
