You won't need to. Just import the German version (Bonny and Clyde was released in a normal Blu case, too, so one could expect all the digi releases to appear 'normal' over here). And since it's Warner, it will be region free.

I have seen this movie in the theater as child and at that time felt like a very boring film. Since then I haven't seen this. If I see this now I will probably have a different perspective.

It's larger in almost every respect (it's about the same thickness as a regular case) and feels kind of flimsy. The tray for the disc is just glued onto the cardboard cover and there's nothing to keep the disc in the case if it comes off of the hub. Some people don't like it mainly because it's not uniform.

What I don't get is why so many imports have cases that are different sizes than the Region A movies. That really annoys me, just because I don't see the reason for it. Why can't all the "regular" issues of Blu-rays be a standard size? |

So..... DVDActive.com has posted artwork for this release... front and rear, and it lists only Dolby Digital 5.1... and NOT Dolby TrueHD.
I wasn't going to buy it because of the "Coffee Book" cases, but this is disappointing news if true regardless... hopefully it's a mistake (ala "The Perfect Storm"). ~Alan |

How important is it to have lossless audio for a movie that's primarily dialogue driven? That being said, I think this movie is an all-time classic, but not one that will shine on Blu-ray. Nevertheless, it deserves the best treatment possible. Unfortunately, WB hasn't been getting the job done on BD catalogue titles to say the least, and that statement has nothing to do with the digi-books (which I like).

One of the most annoying aspects of this film is its soundtrack. It really bothers me and does not stand up to repeat viewing. Some sort of quirky mix of Indian instruments. Cool idea. Bad implementation.
But that's a separate issue from the transfer and encode, which Warner should really try to get right. |
