TV shows are a very different animal, and you've already seen the higher prices. TV shows are asking for a multi-purchase commitment, not a one-off purchase, and do not have the potential base that something like Oz or GWTW has

Wasn't there an article last year (?) that WB (or GDMX) bought a bunch of AVC encoders?

EDIT: Found it!
Warner authoring facility, selects Scenarist BD-J authoring CineVision AVC encoding

Cover Art is great.
I'm STILL disappointed that WB isn't using the artwork (aside from logos) they used on the HD DVD release for the upcoming Blu-ray release.

The new cover art looks like somebody was trying to learn how to use Photoshop.

Not like Last Starfighter. Great 80s painted poster turned into a Photoshop monstrosity

Speaking of which Penton, if nothing else, PLEASE make sure that when Real Genius is issued (in the 5 gigawatt special edition it should be), that they use the original poster art instead of the horrific DVD art. If they hadn't had the poster art on the DVD chapter insert I don't know what i would have done (the correct art was used on the EU discs)

Jeff,

Has Robin Harris completely lost his mind?

How can cnet expect to keep readers if they allow nonsense like this get published?

http://blogs.zdnet.com/storage/?p=562

Try not to view this article as torture.

He has gotten worse than Rob Enderle.

Because Blu is doomed pieces get lots of clicks, and obviously the right people are still paying him for the digital download train. Enderle's dirty laundry has been rather aired, so this guy is taking point

Though I'm (almost) always disappointed when studios use something other than the original poster art, I have to admit that I like "The Last Starfighter" cover art. Would I have preferred the original art, sure, but I don't think it's bad (no floating heads for one).

That being said, have you seen the Blu-ray yet?

What has happened to Enderle. He had no credibility before bluray vs HD-DVD. Have people finally seen through his crap.

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you can shed some light on the audio codec that Paramount is using on the "Dance Flick" movie. I notice on the dvdactive.com site that they are showing DTS-HD MA 5.1 for this movie. I'm less interesting in the movie and more interesting in whether Paramount is just trying this out for this movie alone or are they going to start releasing all their movies with this audio?

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/dance-flick.html

Thanks in advance for your reply.
