THANK YOU!!!

BTW, if you just happen to be "shooting the breeze" with someone from WB, let them know how they encoded the Blu-ray set of "Fringe" is just annoying.

Whenever I'm watching a TV series on Blu-ray, or a movie, sometimes it's convenient to know how far I've gotten into the show/movie, or how much time I have left, but that's difficult to do with "Fringe: Season One" on Blu-ray.

It appears that WB has encoded every episode on the disc as one big block, instead of individual blocks making the above impossible... without "guess-timation".

Jeff/Bill,

Regarding the Looney Toons supposedly in the pipeline, any knowledge as to how the shorts will be released (chronological sets by decade vs. chronological sets by character)?

Thanks.

Chronological by decade would be my preference.

Meanwhile, Paramount will release a Transformers: Two-Movie Mega Collection DVD gift set on 10/20. It will be a 2-disc set including both the DVD versions of the original Transformers and the new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We believe a 4-disc Blu-ray version is set for release on 11/3.
It is from "the digital bits", have you ever hear of that site? It is great for Blu Ray news........

It's just the gift set. The actual movie is due on 10/20. I wouldn't be surprised if the boxed set hits on 10/20 as well.

Actually, that excerpt is talking about the collection of both movies. The DVD with both comes out first and the BR later on. The individual release of RotF comes out on the same day as the DVD (10/20).

Jeff,

Could we expect the Matrix sequels and the Bourne films to be available separately next year? I am guessing if WB and Universal were planning that, they would wait until after the holiday season.

Also, will we reach a point where new special features are all done in HD? They're doing a better job of this lately, but we're still getting newly produced content done in SD. The latest example being that new documentary found on the American Werewolf in London BD.

I'd say it's likely they'll get split up in the next year or so, though don't forget Bourne 4 is in the pipe, they may just wait. Worse comes to worse the sets will probably go on sale at some point for something more reasonable.

Most things are produced in HD, but for various reasons like disc space or budgets, studios may not choose to include them in HD

Jeff,

I try not to pick on you guys because you generally do a great job, but I really had to laugh when I read this today:

So, you've confirmed that they're working on it? [sarcasm]Yippie![/sarcasm] Let us know when a release date is set in concrete. Otherwise, quit teasing us! For all I know, they're probably working on delaying it again.

Hey Jeff...

Any hints when we can see the other Batman films released seperatly?

I'd love to at least grab a companion DigiBook for Batman Returns.

Pretty much films only in boxes will be split up when there is a tie-in (Such as JJTrek's video release), or when sales of the box cease to be special. So no time before Christmas, sometime next year more likely

Has Bill ever considered redesigning the Bits?

Also Jeff will you ever post or publish your Battlestar Galactica incurred grievances list? I'd love to see it.

Yes, the bits will eventually get a facelift at some point

I'm unaware of any grievances I have against BSG, but if you're referring to that Ron Moore Space show, it would require me watching it again, something I'm not doing without there being money involved.

I would rather watch Battlefield Earth on VHS, pan&scan on a 110" screen and not be allowed to heckle it

I don't know what kind of demand there is, but I would love it if Warner Bros would release "Strange Brew" on blu-ray. Throw on a commentary with Rick and Dave in character. Their Tuke and Rutt commentary from "Brother Bear" prove that they still have the chemistry. Some "Great White North" segments from SCTV, and even the Bob and Doug 2-4 special from a couple of years ago (already in HD) would be very cool. Jeff, any chance you can pass on this request to your studio contacts? I'm probably in the minority, but I am from Canada originally and Bob and Doug are icons, eh.
