Hey Jeff.
are you aware of the diffrences between IMAX 3D and Digital 3D? This summer I saw Ice age 3 Digital 3D and it gave my an uncomfortable headache and I wasn wondering if IMAX 3D would be the same. (not that I'll be able to see Avatar on IMAX 3D in the nearest future) |

That's good to hear. I really hope that the bourne titles are the only ones that come on flippers and these things are tossed away.

I was using wikipedia as a second source - and it's a perfectly valid research source as anyone can dispute and correct anything on the site. As it stands, after it was mentioned I remembered the TVSoDVD article referenced in the first place.
My point remains - music clearances alone will not scuttle a TV release. It is those music clearances held up against potential (or proven) profit that will do so. |

Trainspotting is a favorite with one of the most integral soundtracks I've ever experienced - the kind I can't WAIT to hear out of my home system. Any rumblings on folks prepping this for a blu release?
And... any new rumblings on The Big Lebowski or the latest Coen bros. work "A Serious Man"? |

Yeah, I don't know why they didn't do BDLive for it
Lebowski will go when the title hits another promotional cycle, or if I were Uni I think Mr. Bridges has a certain sequel in post production I'd be looking to ride ![]() Another year *rocks back and forth* |

How would one obtain the BD-Live update if there's no menu option for it? Does the disc always attempt to access the internet even if there's no BD-Live user selection visible?
I haven't even gotten around to watching many of the extras for the first movie yet, so I'm not exactly in a hurry to check out BD-Live for the second movie just yet, though ![]() |

Is 2010 going to be more backloaded in terms of releases? Maybe it's me, but I think the 1Q2010 schedule mostly sucks with the exception of the Toy Story releases. 1Q09 last year was really good, especially with Universal catching up some stuff like Kong, Bourne, & Fast Furious.
I always thought the studios put some decent releases into 1Q to stimulate software sales from the new owners that get the players over the holidays. As it stands right now, it's looking like only Toy Story 1 & 2 for me over the whole 1Q2010. Quite disappointing... I know we're not going to see the really big stuff like Indy Jones, Jurassic Park, etc until Sep-Dec...but c'mon. This is pretty piss-poor. You know it's bad when Universal is re-releasing Bourne and Paramount is re-releasing The Godfather. Maybe the 2Q will be better. I know in the past, there have been some pretty big releases in the April/May timeframe before the summer "doldrums"...and then the big Sep-Dec ramp up of the good stuff... Right now, I'm giving the studios a D- in terms of this schedule... |

Well it looks like Avatar could end up being the huge hit that 20th Century Fox has been needing for quite some time.
In its 2nd weekend it is estimated to have taken in $75 million, which means it has an excellent chance to beat the Dark Knight's 2nd weekend record. It looks like Avatar could be a film with long legs. Im frankly quite shocked that it beat out Sherlock Holmes. I really hope this means that they will put Camerons on other films on bluray quicker. True Lies and The Abyss need to come to bluray with Cameron approved transfers. |
