What version: US
What Blu-ray Player: PS3 Slim 120GB What Receiver: Onkyo 605 Decoding internally or bitstream: I've tried it both ways. Connnection: HDMI via receiver Pretty much any point after Chapter 15 is noticeable. The entire ending battle exhibits the issue to some degree. I could really tell any time there were flashes of guns, the flashes were slightly ahead of the audio. When Jackson is in the tower praying to himself while shooting the Germans, it's very obvious. His "Parker, get down!" line is definitely out of sync, for example. It's very distracting. ![]() |

I'm pretty sure these are circumstances unique to these specific titles, not a general trend of WB gaining rights to Universal catalog.

I just compared the foreign language tracks versus the English on SPR and the lip-sync is WAY off
![]() ![]() Seriously though, I check the 2:18:58 mark on all of the audio tracks and the machine gun fire is the same in all of them in the timing with the sound. YMMV though. |

Just wanted to chime in that my UK release of SPR plays perfectly, absolutely no lip sync issues at all. I'm in Arizona, but was getting the Avatar Steelbook from Amazon UK and included a copy of the UK SPR release as it was a few dollars less than Amazon.com at the time, and I get the release a few days earlier than the US release.
What version: UK What Blu-ray Player: LG BH200, with latest March 2010 FW What Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR507 Decoding: Bitstream to my receiver for decoding. Connnection: HDMI |

We'll check on that. I believe that 14 is when they went digital
The real question is this: Did they scan the line drawings in hi res, save them, and will they spend the money to recolor 6 seasons? Last edited by Jeff Kleist; 05-06-2010 at 01:32 AM. |

Hi Jeff,
As requested in the SPR thread please see below for my results checking up on the SPR sync issue: What version: UK What Blu-ray Player: Sony BDP-S360 (Australian release - updated with current firmware from sony.com.au) What Receiver Sony STR-DA2400ES (Australian release - current) Decoding internally or bitstream: Normally bitstream, however attempted internal decoding and the same sync issue was present. Connection: HMDI - normally through receiver, however also tried direct to TV. Same result. Sync problem commences at 1:59:36 (close up shot of Tom Hanks' hand on the coffee machine). From that point onwards through the remainder of the film there is a significant gap. Gunshots render this issue most obviously, however dialogue also seems clearly detached from the visuals. This occurs regardless of if the disc is played in it's entirety or skipped to chapter 14 and watched from there. |

What version: US
What Blu-ray Player: Panasonic BD-30 and PS3 What Receiver: Pioneer with the BD-30, internal TV speakers with the PS3 Decoding internally or bitstream: Both Connnection: BD-30 - DTS core via coax; PS3 analog stereo out I am also noticing a slight audio sync delay beginning at Chapter 15 - Hanks fiddling with the espresso machine, etc. onward. This was with a Panny BD-30 (latest firmware) running DTS thru coax into a Pioneer receiver. I also noticed it with a PS3 (latest firmware) running DTS downmixed stereo analog out, into a TV with built-in speakers to keep things simple. I then brought out my 2004 SPR 60th Anniversary D-Day DVD release as well as the original 1999 DVD release - both exhibited no audio slip. It seems to continue throughout the last battle as well, to some degree. The audio delay is probably something like 2-3 frames, which may go unnoticed - but definitely there on these two set-ups, compared to the prior DVD releases. I provided feedback here FWIW: Paramount Blu-ray Support http://support.paramountbluray.com |

I noticed it on my copy (Dutch version) as well. I sampled some bits from chapter 15 and the end, so I assume it's there throughout the ending. Though it's really not that bad on my copy. It's barely noticeable, but it's there.
I have a Sony BDP-S350, connected with coax to a Sony receiver (pretty old, but hey). |
