No, since she didn't know what he was talking about we're assuming he dialed the wrong number.

I'm still trying to figure out what anyone thought was right about it, in the first place.

It's because they totally missed what made Season 1 great :
[Show spoiler]the ending, when all the "heroes" come together for a fight.
We spent the whole season building up to it.

Then they started Season 2 with everyone thrown in 100 different directions, undoing everything they did and adding new unlikable characters, missing the whole
[Show spoiler] good team vs. bad guys aspect that
made the end of Season 1 so effective.

They hit a high note and then shat the rest away because they didn't realize what people were really looking for - comradarie and adventure, not endless disparity.

I "broke up" with the show the night that
[Show spoiler] Peter's father rose from the dead and "sucked" his powers out of him
. I rolled my eyes, stopped the episode, and deleted my season pass right then and there. It was the cheesiest, stupidest thing I have ever seen outside of a reality show.

Wait, how did we get on Heroes? LOL.

Frankly, I'm glad it's gone. What a terrible waste of a great premise.

To sum-up why it went bad so fast is easy....too much Claire and not enough Hiro, right Jeff?

I didn't care much for the Season 1 finale, but in hindsight, it wasn't that bad compared to the poo they did in the next 3 seasons. I hate what the did to Sylar too. Here was the ultimate bad guy and they castrated him.

I'm in a slight pickle and was wondering if I could get some advice from Jeff, Bill or anyone who'd have an idea?

I live in the UK and imported Gladiator Sapphire Series Edition with the DNR and EE. Do you think the Universal UK exchange program would replace my Paramount disc or am I just going to have to buy another copy?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're very likely screwed. It's one of the risks of importing.

You should contact your importer. If you used a private one (not amazon), many times they will try to set up exchanges in the host country.

For those wondering, no the new American Zoetrope/Lionsgate deal does not include all films he directed like Godfather. Lucasfilm owns Tucker: A Man and his Dream, so hold that tiger kids

Hey Jeff-

Can you kindly pass Bill a little wisdom for me? To wit:

If a product is only available from one retailer and that retailer is selling it for $149.99, that product's SRP is not $199.99.

He can add it to his book of wisdom, right after:

If only one edition of a film has been made available, that edition is not really a "Collector's" edition.

If the MSRP was $149.99, then they'd have to offer a further discount to entice you then wouldn't they?

If you order your Sham-wow for only $14.99 right now, we'll throw in not one, not two, but THREE more, plus this cleaning solution absolutely free! (total cost of producing sham-wows, $0.08 cents each )

Ah well thanks anyway I thought that was the case. I used hidefdvd.com at the time but they don't seem to sell blu-rays anymore just list sites that do.

Damn.

The message, itself, doesn't surprise me. However, Bill doesn't have to repeat the line, does he?

Next this afternoon... we've got a quick update for you on Gladiator: Paramount has now informed me that the new revised Blu-ray with the vastly improved HD transfer WILL have a YELLOW UPC symbol on the packaging, as was the case with Saving Private Ryan. So that's how you'll recognize it in stores. Just ignore that "2-Disc Set" text thing I mentioned earlier this morning, as it may not apply. Let me know if you see the new version in stores, and I'll try to keep up all up to date as it rolls out. Again, the Paramount customer service number to call to arrange the exchange in the States is: 323-956-3010. A few of you have reported trouble getting through, or that the voicemail box is often full, so please just be patient and try again over the next few days. They're getting a LOT of calls as you can imagine, so they're pretty slammed. You can also try this e-mail address: phe_customerservice@paramount.com. Just be aware that they're getting lots of e-mails too, so it's going to take time for them to get back to you. Also, a number of U.K. readers are reporting that an exchange program is happening there as well from NBC Universal - you can contact their customer service at the following e-mail address (mention the Gladiator BD exchange) and they'll send you the instructions: enquiriesuk@nbcuni.com. Thanks to all of you who have sent this in.
Here you go

If this is regarding the Gladiator situation, please send an Email to phe_customerservice@paramount.com

Place "Gladiator" in the subject line and include your name, address and phone number. You will be contacted.

If calling for another reason, please leave your name and phone number.

Looks like they don't want people calling the phone number anymore.

Tucker is on of the few remaining DVD's in my collection - well, pretty much everything I have left is Lucas/Spielberg. Speaking of...

Comic Con has come and gone with no news on the Lucasfilm front. So I take it THX-1138 is the only Lucas title coming to blu this year? Well, there's also CW:S2, which I'm not really counting as a major release. Anything on Tucker, American Graffiti and Willow? If Indy isn't coming this year, which is looking unlikely, I don't see that coming until a few years from now, since it's looking like SW will at least start being released next year.

Well, on the upside you can probably take this to mean that "Indiana Jones and the Sultan of Sorryboutthatlastone" is looking good No Willow either

For those who are interested in listening to my friend Tom DeSanto talk about the real BSG and their aborted TV movie, click here. He and I are simpatico in our takes of what worked and what didn't, and maybe this will help some of the naysayers to understand why they got shortchanged from having a great new show that made everyone happy

http://felgercarb.blogspot.com/2010/...irca-2001.html

Now if certain parties would stop being so sore about their show being replaced by something completely different that only uses the proper nouns and a few outlines (NOT Ron Moore's crew, they have nothing to do with it), we can get this movie on the road.
