Hi Jeff,
My apologies if this has already been answered on a previous post or thread, but is Sony planning on re-releasing the Spider-Man movies on blu, but separately with the special features that were on the DVD's?

Yet, how much of windfall will it be? The way the net is hyped up you would think this is the second coming of The Dark Knight.

Domestically, Watchmen will be lucky to gross $150 million.

Jeff, I hate to ask because I'm sure it's been covered but I couldn't dig it up. Whats the general feeling at WB regarding the older DC Universe shows for HD? Batman: TAS, Batman Beyond, etc... I'm really interested in Mask of the Phantasm and BB: Return of the Joker.
Mask of the Phantasm has a good chance of an eventual Blu, TAS is the only pre-HD era WB title that stands a chance of the upgrade. I hope they do it

Whats the deal with Fox Studios?
Happens to everyone. I'm sure they're not happy about it. Hopefully next year will be better

Yes, but probably not until Spidey 4 kicks up. You might see the bare bones discs get kicked loose this year, but given that you can get the trilogy as low as $40 I'd just grab it

It'll be huge on video as well

300 did $450 million total, Fox will see $20-30 million easy from this by the time all is said and done. And before anyone asks,
word on the street is that the 60's Batman was NOT included in the price. Pretty much gives up all hope in my book because Fox
had them by the balls. It's pretty obvious that WB would rather see it buried down a salt mine than see the light of day again.

I'm glad to hear that. I'd LOVE to have Mask of the Phantasm on Blu-ray. I think it's best pre-Batman Begins feature film for the character.

Although I personally would probably just stick with my standard box set of Batman:TAS, I'm all for that coming out on Blu-ray as well.

Thanks much; looking forward to it.

Talking of Batman animation; where does Batman vs Dracula fit into the 'likely or not so likely to get remastered into Hi-def' picture?

Hey Jeff, according to my distributor it seems Summit Entertainment has decided to give the exclusive rights to sale the Blu-ray version of Twilight to Best Buy and Target. The only exception is rentailers can buy it (for obviously rental only).

Can this be verified and if it has, exactly what were they thinking? I just find it intresting Summit would do this with such a huge movie......makes me wonder what exactly BB and Target paid for this.

Is this an interest issue or a technical one?

Maybe that is just for an advanced date release short term.
Anyway if it is true, look for hundreds to be listed on eBay
by budding entrepreneurs in Canada.

It will be very intresting how Summit handles that.....to make this "exclusive" work they need to make sure foreign distributors do not sale to US retailers (which happens all the time......the Weinstein exclusive deal is a perfect example of that in the rental business)

No idea, was this a production by the TAS team?

Well, as is typical with these sorts of deals, they didn't "decide" anything. Just like companies don't "decide" to go HD DVD or DTS MA. BB/Target obviously decided to do something to make it worth their while.

Jeff what are the chances that Warner will start realsehing the Charlie Brown/Peanuts specials on Blu? And what are the chances of Disney bring out The Muppet movies on blu?

And Batman vs. Dracula was done by The Batman grew not Bruce Timms Batman: TAS team.

Thanks,

Woodlandwolf

They're close, but most people don't feel comfortable listing dates 5 months out unless there's been an official press release because dates often change, especialy on catalog stuff.

so just take it with a gain of salt of what may be coming down the road then. Thanks.

When I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I was really hoping for Willy Wonka to go with Charlie.

Jeff,

What's up with the Matrix Revolutions issue? Is this going to get addressed by Warner Bros. or swept under the proverbial rug?

Thanks.

Matrix Rev nothing yet. I don't expect they'll even comment on the issue, simply fix it whenever they press the singles. When those are announced we'll press for an exchange program

Thanks,
