I figured it would be a long shot to have a tie in between a couple studios. Oh well would have been nice to have them same day though.

Can't wait to see what this "good stuff" is. I would assume that these announcements wont hit until mid/late February?

Hey Jeff,

I know Ive brought this up time and time again, but I hope it wont get too old, but Im a little disappointed that Universal hasnt announced the Riddick films yet.

I speculate that they are holding off until Dark Athena gets a firm release date.

Is my assumption correct.

Dark Athena should be an AWESOME game for those curious.

Dark Athena has a date, 4/7

If you want Riddick and pitch black, it comes out next week in the UK, almost certainly region free

Okay, here's a question for you-- will we ever see a decent version of True Lies? I mean, even the DVD has never had an anamorphic release here in the States. With all the other movies getting triple dipped, it's kinda ridiculous we still don't have decent version of this movie.

True Lies was going to be reissued in 2001, but Sept 11th put that on hiatus. Various factors kept it down during the ensuing years

There will definately be a good version of True Lies

Jeff,

Can you pass a word on to the powers to be at Sony and ask them politely or not so politely to stop putting the digital copy stickers on the case itself? It is a small pain with the stickers being place directly on the case.

Thanks

This query was actually the topic of its own thread a couple days ago. Now that I've watched When We Left Earth in its entirety, I have to ask: are there any releases planned to tie in to the approaching 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing?

Penton already addressed it if I recall

Should be

One thing that people need to understand is that I'm being intentionally vague right now, because this is the most fluid, least certain time of the year when many things can, do and will change. I don't want to talk about anything that is too far out to call, or to steal any studio's thunder. When we post hyper early stuff on the Bits, it's typically with a blessing of some kind

And Braveheart people, it's still coming, I promise

Any insight from you for our questions is great.

Here is a very easy question to remain very vague. How far out do you and Bill have knowledge of upcoming releases? 6 months, 7 months? We, the non-insiders, only see about 2 months out and a little for 3 out. I would assume that you and Bill have seen tentative release schedules for much further out. It must be good and bad knowing what could be coming but at the same time have to stay tight lip about them.

That’s not nice.
Hmm, and you’re the guy who wanted to know when the Sony Blu Mega Changer will debut.
Okay then…..wait for the official announcement.

You recall correctly.
I posted something a couple days ago –

I’m not really into stickers, so I’m not positive but, the stickers will probably continue to be put on the case. So long as in the future they come off easily, it should not be a problem…….for most people.

Hrm...

I've seen lists that have titles that won't be coming out until next spring, because restoration schedules are being made now. And some titles that might come out this Christmas can be delayed a whole year if their windows switch. Things get moved up, delayed, or shuffled in mid-stream.

That's why I usually say there's about 50 titles at any one time orbiting the release drain

Yeah, sometimes it is hard to keep your mouth shut about things. I was doing a huge dream concert for a major band, and I knew about it the previous August, and it didn't get announced till the following May

I also blew the mind of a producer in Japan, who's a good friend of mine, because one of the biggest bands he produced was getting back together, it was, and still is top secret, and I wished him luck with it. He still can't figure out how I found out about it

I can't speak for Bill, but for me: More than one

Penton,

I am also very interested in the debut time frame of the Sony Blu Mega Changer, and I have never had a Sony sticker problem . If it's appropriate, I would love any info you have on this subject...PM me if you wish not to broadcast.

Jeff,

Is there a website where I can look up who owns the DVD and Blu distribution rights for a film?

Thanks
