anybody heard anything about a possible Blade Trilogy USA release? I want to order the Alliance Canadian release but the aspect ratio is all out of whack. If we're getting a USA set in the future I can hold off.

Alliance has been using a lot of Broadcast TV masters for their Blus, I'd say buyer beware on pretty much all of them as far as OAR and quality goes.

Blade Trilogy not for at least another year

Nice Paramount/Dreamworks update Jeff/Bill!!

Hopefully the fact that Indy Jones isn't mentioned doesn't mean it has been pushed to next year. I think we can just assume it's being handled by a "different" channel (ie Lucasfilm Ltd.), and Paramount will just distribute...

It will also be 1080i/60 (v. 1080p/24), so there is also the issue of ITC to get back 24p.

It's no issue IF you have the right equipment. But, it's a mess for a lot of people.

Bill/Jeff,

Do either of you have any definite word from MGM if the Bond Steelbooks and/or Bond Volumes on Blu-ray have been cancelled?

I have the first three volumes, but I am getting a little worried that the remaining Volumes won't be released. TMWTGG and LTK are the only titles that have not been released in an official Volume (the BB set w/QOS does not count) or in Steelbooks.

I hope I did not make a mistake going the Volume route.

That's a question for retailers

In this country, with a few rare exceptions steelbooks are retailer premiums, and if they don't order them the studio doesn't make them

Bond hasn't been selling quite what people thought it would, so I wouldn't be suprised if retailers are skipping it. BB for example used its steel money for an exclusive window on MWTGG and LTK.

It's a pity Bond is not doing so well as MGM has done a sterling job on them. Any word on the next Bond releases?

Jeff/Bill,

Any idea if the audio pops present in the most recent DVD (60th Anniversary Edetion) of It's A Wonderful Life have been fixed for the impending Blu-Ray release?

These pops were not present in the previous version (Silver Screen Classics).

From the DVD Talk review:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/25017...rsary-edition/

The audio is mixed as a Dolby Digital mono track, retaining qualities of the original soundtrack. There is one error on the disc, about seven minutes in when young George is working in the drugstore. In that scene, there is a rather loud pop and a quick fluctuation of the volume. I backed my DVD up and ran it a second time, just to see if it was a one-time anomaly, and sure enough, it was in the manufacturing. I've read a report from at least one other user that had the same problem, so it appears to be a glitch across the run. (He also noted three other instances of a similar audio quirk, but I didn't experience them on mine.)

Thanks

I'd say that they're pointing toward current releases and slowly catching up the back catalog if sales justify

I could have sworn Escape from New York was on the way too, it's on HDnet fairly often and looks quite good to me.

Bill/Jeff,

Did everything turn out ok with the little baby raccoon? Did the mother take it back last night?

Nonetheless, in Urban areas it is best to let Animal Control
deal with wildlife. In some areas the incidence of rabies
in raccoons approaches 40%.

P.S.
When you are through using the pet carrier for the raccoon
wash it out with a 10% solution of clorox and water and set
it out in the sun for a couple hours. That should take care
of distemper and anything else.

Agreed, but I'm turning into a softy in my old age.

Still, when I read Bill's story I was a little "concerned" because sometimes mothers will abandon an entire litter if one of the babies has been "tampered" with. Animals are weird like that.
