They haven't been announced, but it doesn't mean they won't be. As far as I know things haven't changed, but who knows. If they don't ocme out in august I'm sure theyll come out with the video release

Gotta love it. "Sapphire Edition".... I guess at a future date, for the double dip, we'll get the Ruby, Emerald, and Diamond Editions...

If this has already been asked and answered, I apologize for the repeat. But, do you know why TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. was pulled at the last minute and when it might actually be released on Blu? Also, considering it was cancelled just a day or two before the street date, what do the studios do with the thousands of discs that were already pressed?
No idea what caused it. Could be a legal hassle or a last minute glitch. If it's a legal issue they think they can solve in a timely manner, they'll hold them. Otherwise they'll probably get pulped

Very disappointed to hear about the delay for "Indy" and "Monsters Inc."...

TVShowsOnDVD announced that Mill Creek Entertainment has the rights to some titles BCI previously released, and will be releasing some this fall... including "Daybreak: The Complete Series" and "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe: The Complete Series"... two titles BCI previously mentioned plans for eventual Blu-ray releases... with comments indicating this year. Is there any chance that Mill Creek may consider these titles for BD release as well, or is there 0% chance now?

Will "Razor" be included in the upcoming BSG "individual" (as yet unnanounced, but up for pre-order) Season Four Blu-ray set ala the DVD sets?

Agreed, but in my heart I never truly believed Indy was coming. Now we get the news/rumors this week that Indiana Jones 5 seems to be fast tracking, and it doesn't surprise me Indy has been pushed back. I bet it doesn't make it until 2011 or 2012 to tie in with part 5.

Monsters Inc...I don't get that one. Isn't it out in Japan?

Wow. Very bummed for sure. I guess that will push Nemo to 2011. Very frustrated to hear this.

Are all these delays the result of lower than expected Blu-ray Disc sales? Mind you I am not purposefully trying to be negative, but that is the first thing I took away from this news.

On the bright side, there are still a bunch of titles listed as tentatively being released this year, but they're still tentative.

Todays rumor mill was about as heartbreaking as it gets.

EVERY single film I was looking most forward to has been pushed back until 2010.

Shame. I was really hoping it would be the year that the floodgates opened impressively, but they pretty much left us with titles I dont give two shits about.

Im sure the studios will find another way to disappoint me.

If you're willing to shell out ~$56 that is...

A word on Mill Creek, I seriously doubt that they have the financial backing to do Blu-ray any time soon. They're mostly a public domain/ohgodpleasetakeit clearinghouse, and my guess would be that they bought up a lot of the BCI product for a song, and a lot of it is going into supermarket bargain bins.

While I'm sure there's people there who would love to go Blu, don't hold your breath.

This rumor mill news is disappointing, especially the Pixar news. At least Bill did not mention that Pulp Fiction was delayed.

IMO, the biggest issue with the Blu-ray format for the next few months is the release list. I usually buy 1 or 2 a week. But from now until Sept there is hardly anything that I want to purchase. Thankfully there have been some good sales lately for catching up on titles that were priced too high in the first place.

Monsters, Inc is really a bummer..the blu-ray looks fantastic (based on the screenshots I've seen)...I'm still holding out hope that things will change and it will come out with Up in November...

I sure hope they aren't holding it back for the rumored Monsters Inc 2 release for 2013!

A question about the rumor mill news...

Do you guys have any insight into why Chinatown isn't coming out sooner? The latest DVD release looks great which makes me think it must have come from a solid master. I realize there are many different reasons for release dates and I'm just wondering what specifically is holding back one of my favorite films. Thanks!

It's because the studios are too busy releasing crap that no one cares about such as Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert, and Sword of the Stranger. You can go through the release list and pre-order list and pick out your own titles. It's really not too difficult; we should make a game out of it (call it “Why this one studios, why?”). I guess this what the summer doldrums are all about.

It too bad that studios are postponing great titles that will help grow the format and instead are putting out crap (is it a quota thing?). I guess I am really disappointed by the news (and a little tired of waiting).

Yes, very disappointing rumor mill news. Don't studios understand that anchor titles are what are going to sell Blu during the holidays.

Indiana and Alien Quadrilogy are 2 huge franchise titles that could help sell these players.

Just do not understand the minds of the studio decisions. I can understand if there are production delays for these titles, but it seems they have been on the works for some time now.

Kind of bizarre pushing Monsters Inc. back until 2010.
The masters are done. The disc is out in other territories and it's advertised as already being out.

The only reason I can think of is that A Bug's Life didn't sell that well, or not enough for Disney's liking.

They aren't going to tie in another catalog title to Up this fall then?

I couldn't have said it better. When they get around to putting Pulp Fiction out(hopefully August, it will sell more units than any of their crappy movies they put out. If these studios really want to make money, start putting quality catalog titles out. Nobody wants Date Movie on Blu-ray or DVD for that matter. Also is there any way to stop these studios from milking us a second time (i.e. LOTR we got milked once on DVD by theatrical then releasing extended editions now they're doing it again w/Blu-ray). Can't they release a set that would cost the regular price plus half for both in one set like $80-90? That way we're not paying double but, they still get to milk us for both editions?
