This is the 35th Anniversary of Jaws, which is a perfect opportunity to re-promote that title. Universal has released a new DVD version for the 25th and 30th anniversaries. I would assume they'd do that again this year.

So we're in the clear since Paramount distributes Indy and Universal distributes Jurassic Park, right?

Jeff, now that Gangs and Gladiator have been/are being rectified, is there a chance that Patton will be re-released this year, sans-dnr, poss for the 40th annv?

I currently have 15 games for my PS3, which is a high amount for me. But, man, have there been some really great games for this system.

As for updating older games - I'd love for a re-release of Knights of the Old republic 1 & 2, only this time on both consoles since I only have a PS3.

Wasn't there a European listing for it for this year somewhere? I seem to recall that.

Seeing as how I have the old non-anamorphic DVD and this is one of my Top 10 favorite films of all time, I really want it bad. (Never got the newer DVD because HD was around the corner...)

agreed on that-- but it's only 6 weeks into a year-- it seems to me that blu-ray would "take off" even greater if there were some big releases every month to look forward to--- I think current blu-ray fans are getting a little tired of waiting for the "blockbusters" that dvd seemed to move faster on within the first 3 years.....

People only buy extravagent box sets during Christmas, and there are huge swatches of the year (like now) where even good stuff doesn't do well. That's why you see things come out when they do

Hi Jeff and sorry to bother you again. Do you know if somebody from Disney reads this thread or if they are even aware that there is a demand for the 1982 soundtrack for Fantasia? Or should I write them an email?

What?
Patton may have issues in the picture department, but the BD release is loaded in the extras department....

how about a new "2001" transfer? The current BD looks like crap next to the crystal clear/razor sharp 35mm print I saw projected. I can only imagine what a state of the art 8K (Baraka style) transfer from the original large-format element would yield. It would stomp all over the excuse-for-a-blu-ray we currently have.

I'm not clear on why there is so much interest in the 1982 replacement soundtrack as opposed to the OST????

I thinks it's because it's not really been heard in the best part of 25+ years, if it ever was on cd it was a very long time ago...also the "original" soundtrack master elements are actually a re-recording done in the 50's that for a variety of technical reasons are unlikely to ever match what Disney heard back in the 1930's.

Either soundtrack is a compromise, so they might as well have both, theres enough space!
