What catalog titles have bad video transfers with BD Live and Picture-in-Picture, and other bells and whistles?

I'm a huge Kubrick fan who has never seen Spartacus. I won't until they do a proper new edition.
Believe me ,i will not buy a bd movie that has inferior pq.I do not own SPARTACUS,or any other movie. Stick together, you bet ya.

It's a movie during which
[Show spoiler]the terrorists succeed in detonating a nuclear weapon inside the United States.
He probably views it as a positive propaganda film.

Not sure if the spoiler tags are necessary. The film is 13 years old.

Absolutely not. If they haven't seen it by now that's their problem

Since films live on forever on home video for new generations to see, I'd say that spoiler tags are always appropriate.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm intrigued about college football expansion and I'm curious if any insiders want to share their thoughts.

In case anyone doesn't know I am a graduate student at Texas A&M and am very much in favor of the Big 12 getting dissolved and joining either the Pac 10, Big 10 or the SEC.

Why? Because the Big 12 schools are getting hosed compared to other conferences in TV revenue and A&M athletics have a lot of debt and its my hope that going to to a conference that has a lot more money distributed to its members will help lessen the burden of athletic depo debt get passed on to the students.

Really Merrick?

I think college football should stop sucking much needed money from academics, because only about a half dozen teams don't lose a pile of money every year for their schools. And don't get me started on the 100,000 seat high school stadiums

Thats why I am in favor of that. More revenue from other sources will lead to less money being sucked up from academics. It wont, however lower ticket prices.

The fact of the matter is that college football isn't going anywhere.

Maybe Im being naive.

Each of the big D1 schools is making between tens of millions (USC/Stanford ~$76M) and hundreds of millions (Texas $120M, Ohio State, $117M) from their athletic programs a year... I would think at least a portion of that is going back into academics. I'd think Academics would be "in the black" on that deal, but it's possible I'm wrong.

The last report I read is that Texas is one of the few schools in which the athletic department actually turns a profit AND gives money back to academics. Ohio State was the other one.

The other schools do not make any money off of athletics. Yeah, its sad.

Jeff is correct in the regard that its sad as to how much money is getting sucked out of academics to go to funding athletic programs. But the fact of the matter is that college football and other athletic programs are going nowhere and it will always be this way. Its not good for the students, but just the way it is. Thats whay I am favoring expansion if it leads to more revenue because it is my hope that securing revenue AWAY from academics will enable them to pour more in.

Again, it could be (and probably is) a naive assumptiom.

And not just football. Our local university let go a coach, apparently for being overly harsh with students, and has promised to give her hundreds of thousands of dollars over the next few years. This while the rest of the university is hurting, and faculty, staff, and even some administrators are taking regular unpaid furloughs to hold the place together. Yes, I know about the contracts, but such contracts probably shouldn't be written.
