Jeff, are you reading from that Fellowship of The Ring spin script again?

But I do love Fox’s sense of style considering the months long Patton online activists' campaign and how it really changed things in the long run with the Predator offering….

The government is in the process of taking over the internet buy putting up these messages on sites that have certain key words.

Next are the black boxes that control and monitor the content.

I stand corrected, The internet "Kill Switch" bill has passed though congress yesterday and moves to the senate floor.

This bill gives the president the ability to kill the internet for four months if he sees fit.

Not a joke.

Jeff,

Its been happening for a while, but I also have to wonder how truly accurate screenshot science can be when comparing video games amongst the PS3 and 360.

I just don't get how they can accurately take a screenshot from each console.
In the beginning days non exclusive games were almost ALWAYS superior on the 360 and according to video game screenshot science that is usually still the case, although the differences are seldom noticable.

At this point in the console lifestyle I usually try and just balance out the games between the systems and thats what version of a game I usually get unless one version is CLEARLY superior to the other. This year my 360 has gotten a whole lot more playing time than my PS3.

I don't read from anyone's scripts. If you read my words again, you'll see that I say I believe it's correct(that it's been DNR'd), but that I haven't seen it myself. The point (that I have been trying to make for several years now) is that the movie doesn't look like people imagine it should, printed right off the negative day one. And the same goes for Robocop.

Do you mean pixel counting? Then no. Most games these days use low resolution assets and then spend their cycles in fancy Fx. That's why Alan Wake looks fantastic but runs at 560p. No one who isn't pixel counting ends up caring because the end product on your screen looks great anyway

The scary thing about Bill's editorial is after you read it, you'd think it was posted back in 2006 when BD just began. Instead, this was posted this week...in YEAR 4 of the format. Yikes!

Additionally, the case was never made with DaVinci that it would damage your children. That's a big talking point and very convincing, even when it's completely fabricated.

Further, the book was already a massive hit in the US, so they had a massive part of their audience who already knew better.

Exactly, it's the same reason why the Harry potter movies (though truncated) stick so close to the books, because they know that 90% of their audience read them and 70% of those know it backwards and forwards.

Yeah, Im a little annoyed with the so called pixel counting. How the heck do people tell when something is 540p as opposed to 720p? When I played Alan Wake my TV said it was 1280x720.

Alan Wake looks really good for the most part but there are some spots when it would have clearly benefited from a resolution bump. Also the voice synching is some of the worst I have seen in quite a few years.

When did they make books out of the Harry Potter films?

Same with Twilight and DaVinci code?

I'm not 100% sure of their methodology, I believe they're looking for repeated pixels. I do know that their reported figures have matched internals the times I've checked however.

Twilight's writing is so turgid that I'm shocked anyone has actually read those. The movies are almost equally awful, it's really too bad these kids weren't around to keep Angel from being cancelled.

DaVinci code I think I made it through about 2/3s, and later saw the movie on DVD where I could fast forward. I just got sick of

(paraphrase)

"He noticed the intricate brushstrokes in the painting hanging on the wall. "Look" he said, "check out the intricate brushstrokes in this painting on the wall"

That's like the whole book.

LOL. Yeah, they really stretched logical thinking in DaVinci code sometimes to the point of absurdity.

Unfortunately this doesn't surprise me.

A few years ago, when Congress passed the "Military Commissions Act" in relation to our wars and Homeland Security hardly anyone batted an eyelash over it. This bill effectively suspended due process, a core component for any society describing itself as free.

Now the government has the power to lock anyone in jail indefinitely without having to file a criminal charge or give the prisoner access to legal counsel. If you say or write something the government doesn't like the government can declare you an "enemy of the state" and toss you in jail however long it sees fit. So much for "democracy," but we don't really have that either considering how much money it takes to run for state or national public office or even defend one's self in court. Oh well.

I guess we're going to have to be more careful with how we use our computers and especially what we say through them.

How right you are Jeff but it is already to late as the screen shot scientists are loose on this site and the war has begun.

Back to the Future! FINALLY. ANNOUNCED. The press release specifically states that grain will be preserved. I'm VERY surprised that it will actually contain Eric Stoltz footage.

Now I just need my Alien Anth and Indiana Jones announcement and I'll be as happy as over for the fall and xmas!

I just hope we don't have delay after delay like we had last year with bluray AND gaming.

25 years, a nice check, and his own TV series- The God-VR With Robots from Universal almost certainly helped heal old wounds. I'm a big fan of his as an actor mind you, and I'm excited to see it, even though they're just little clips

As far as the grain, the power of Spielberg compels you

There's a certain dark humor at play here, as the BTTF films were not overly grainy. The point should be made that whatever grain is a part of the image does not need to be preserved in any way.

Merely left alone.
