Also expect it to be laden with DNR, pretty much all new HD masters are total smoothies out of Japan of Japanese films. There are people trying to educate on proper mastering for HD, but like everything in Japan, it's like turning an aircraft carrier with the engines on 10%

I've been commenting in the thread on it in the region B area

I STRONGLY recommend against pre-ordering it unless you're region free.
Well, Mr. Negativity. Order away, I have this on good authority that it will be Region Free, from a higher source that the Cult Labs forum, even though they are the official mouthpiece of Arrow Video.

1. I would bet that the 'region-free Blu-ray player owners' - 'Battle Royale fans' Venn diagram is pretty close to round.
A bet you'd lose in the US. Since Asia and the US are now all one big happy region, and since 95% of EU exclusives are region free, not a lot of motivation

2. They're only making 5000 copies to begin with.
That's a bet you'd lose. Since the US and Asia are now all one big happy region, there is very little reason for the North American fan to go region free. Given that 95% of the EU exclusives are region free as well.

They're only making 5000 of that one set, there's an unlimited version coming as well.

I was really dissapointed when Spidey 3 and FF2 came out, I was really hoping there could be some Spidey/Torch action as is traditional
I cannot believe how poor the acting was in FF2. I mean it was so bad that it was comical.

Nothing will EVER beat Kirsten Dunst and her Spiderman dialogue. She was freakin terrible and I cringe every time she shows up on screen.

Clearly you've never seen the "love" scene in Attack of the Clones.

I don't think it was possible for that scene to have been acted well. With the material Dunst was given, at least she had a fighting chance.

Thats what makes her performance in Spiderman so much worse to me.

I have and Kirsten Dunst makes me cringe more. I laugh at the love dialogue in Star Wars. I get sick to my stomach from Spiderman dialogue

the only reason anyone liked Dunst in that movie was because of the wet shirt scene and it wasn't that great.

Jeff,

Fallout New Vegas is awesome.

Its getting a lot of flack because its too much like Fallout 3, but that is what makes it so great.

I just started playing it so Im not sure how the Mojave Wasteland will compare to the capital wasteland.

I would wait until some of the bugs get sorted out before dropping some dough on it, but so far I havent had any bug issues.

Any news on the following for BD release: John Wayne's Alamo, The Ten Commandments, Cleopatra, Khartoum (one of my personal favorites next to Zulu), Lawrence of Arabia and Ben Hur?

At least some of those should come in 2011, including the already announced Ben-Hur. Robert Harris is the man to ask about The Alamo

2011 is already off to a great start since it has been mentioned that The Incredibles from pixar is coming.

Not to mention Star Wars.

Saw it last night. It seems like this set will be everything I could have possibly asked and more.

Have you seen it yet? If so what did you think of the Aliens video quality?

Sorry to disappoint.

I never had any doubts about this set knowing who made the set (Sir Charles) and knowing that it will pretty much include everything that didnt make it from the previous set (uncut Alien 3 doc, coccooned Burke, better Aliens video quality). I have not seen any review comment on the coccooned Burke scene considering that everyone wanted it.

It probably means nothing to you but my Rangers FINALLY going to the World Series has me all excited. It just felt fitting that they would have to go through the Yankees to do it.
