Anyone here ever own an ADAM computer (made by Coleco)? That was my first, but then when we sold shortly after and got an Apple IIC+. I remember how I used to trade so many Apple video games with kids at school....it was crazy how many games I had. We used to copy and trade games in computer class when the teacher wasn't looking. If you got caught, he would take your floppy disc and wipe out everything on it. lol Those were fun times.

Yeah, where the heck is Bad Boys 2?

Sony has been the most maddening in not releasing popular sequels.

No Bad Boys 2.
No Ghostbusters 2.
No Men in Black 2.
No Karate Kid 3. (I doubt anyone really misses this)
No Charlies Angels 2

MIB 2, Bad Boys 2 and Charlie's Angels 2 are all terrible movies if you ask me.

Well I am not asking you am I? Since I didnt ask you that means I dont need your opinion on whether "I" want certain movies on bluray. If you dont like a list that someone else presents it might be best not to comment, cuz it really adds absolutely nothing.

Easy there, try to not take it so personal.

I just don't see the need to release these movies except for the second Ghostbusters.

But next to "Ishtar," they would win Oscar's for Best Picture!

Thats the thing YOU dont see a need, but you're not me. Are you?

I dont have a problem with your (or anyone elses) opinion, but I feel its pointless and unnecessary to comment that films that someone lists are terrible. It seriously adds nothing to the discussion.

I see plenty of people mentioning films that I think are terrible and have no interest in, but I consider it pointless to post that I think they are terrible (eventhough I am sure I have done it in the past because its an easy thing to do). I am not going to say I have a perfect posting record, but typically dont comment on things I have no interest in.

Jeff, what's the idea behind including a dvd of "The shop around the corner" with the blu-ray of "You've got mail"? Why not a double-feature with both movies in high-def?
I'm guessing they don't want to hurt sales for a possible future release of the classic, but then why include anything at all? If they want to promote classics among new buyers, wouldn't a HD presentation be much better?
Do they think anyone who bought the blu-ray will want to watch an old movie in SD, and like it so much that they'll buy it whenever it's released on blu-ray? It's the only productive outcome I can think of...
I understand the current solution is cheap but the old movie must have been mastered in HD back in the day anyway so at least they could have included an encoding of that.
Thanks
I don't think the audience for You Got Mail is that discerning to be honest. Maybe they'll pop it in out of curiosity and enjoy it, I don't know, I'm not familiar with the film, but I assume it contains similar themes

Ghostbusters 3 was looking likely when the original hit, now less likely, shame.

Men in Black 3 is coming in 2 years

Supposedly there's one more Bad Boys in bay as well for the same year

Ishtar, guess they're still paying it off?

You clearly have a problem with me if you feel the need to respond. If you didn't, you wouldn't have responded.

I think the point may be that the audience for The Shop Around the Corner might be more discerning than that of You've Got Mail. I certainly wouldn't have picked up the new Keanu version of The Day The Earth Stood Still if the original bonus was an SD-DVD.

Sorry to chime in here, but his comment is just as useful as wondering why certain titles aren't released yet.
A forum primarily consists for people giving their opinions. If nobody is allowed to do that, what's the point, then?

An opinion is useful if it accomplishes something. Saying that you want a film on bluray is useful. Saying that a film sucks isn't. Thats the difference.

There are many discussions that happen in Penton and Jeff's thread that I personally can't stand, but I keep my mouth shut about what they are discussing or I ask my own questions.

For example, I don't care for soccer at all, but I don't go into Pentons thread when people are bringing it up talking about it and start saying "Soccer sucks, this is a movie thread" or something like that because it accomplishes nothing and gets in the way of a discussion that other people find useful.

Another example, I cant stand anime at all and it frequently is discussed in this thread, but again you wont see me making posts like "anime sucks, I cant believe you guys like it" for the same reasons. It accomplishes nothing and it gets on the nerves of people who DO enjoy it and are trying to have a meaningful discussion on it.

I have NO problem with his opinion, I have a problem with the way he is expressing. Banjo is a valuable member of bluray.com, but Im just saying that when someone makes a request and then commenting that their tastes suck...its just goes against the flow of meaningful conversation.

That is my last word on this. Take it to my PM if you have more to say. As for Jeff and Bill having a negative opinion of a negative comment...well it is their thread so they can kinda say what they want.

Not sure the exact reason(s), but since this film was never released on dvd, I guess Sony thinks it is not a terrible idea to release it on BD once and for all? Plus, I am sure some Hoffman fans out there are longing for this release...

Actually "You've Got Mail" is a remake of "Little Shop Around the Corner".

The original is not a very good motion picture in my opinion, I doubt it would ever sell many copies on BD (or DVD for that matter).

Jeff,

Is Fable 3 really as broken as everyone is saying?

I picked it up for $30 but I wont be playing it until I get through AC:Brotherhood or the Sly Collection.
