The biggies are already in play
A good number of those may show up by the end of next year. FTETTM is going to take some work. They need to redo effects I think. The good news is that they used a lot of models, and there are existing assets for the CG, so it's a much simpler prospect than most FX reduxes. Is that what's happening? Not 100% but it's a very popular title for HBO |

Please remember that the cost of the physical disc is dwarfed by the cost of what's ON it. Not even counting the movie, it can cost tens of thousands, and in some cases where they've gone a little Java crazy SIX FIGURES to create the Blu-ray disc alone, before you start paying for the extras and the movie itself. Then there's shipping, handling, storage, advertising, overhead, there's a lot of expenses that are pretty invisible to the end consumer
They're already running the DVDs. It's a product that's around whether or not they decide to put it in the Blu box. Around a $1.25-ish for the disc last I checked. The media costs figure very little into the overall picture |

I know a bunch of people have asked about AI
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview....EY=CWBA-Y25973 http://www.amazon.co.jp/I-Blu-ray-%E...0830841&sr=8-1 You've got well into 2011 before you'll see it here. No, I have no idea what it looks like, how good the master is. The listing has a seperate english "6.1 surround" on the website which may mean PCM. They specify DD EX for the Japanese dub. So there you go, Should run you around $40 shipped. |

Is it a remaster? A re-release? The original Japanese version is superior to the domestic release: no DNR, and PCM 5.1. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have any extras. |

Christmas promotion. They'll lower the price for a limited run of discs 2-3000 yen. They are specially marked with a new UPC, otherwise same disc
The Japanese disc is the same as the UK disc. It does look and sound great Last edited by Jeff Kleist; 11-27-2010 at 07:31 AM. |

Jeff,
Get a chance to play Black Ops, Brotherhood or New Vegas over the holiday? Brotherhood was a fantastic game, but my main complaint is that too many of the side missions are absolutely pointless in that they add nothing to the actual game. One of the changes Ubisoft should consider making for AC3 is that they should allow your character to level up and gain XP. That way there will be an actual incentive to do those side missions. Feather and Flag hunting also need to count for more than trophies/achievements. Aside from that it is very much worth playing for those who liked AC2 (which should be everyone) |

I'm "only" 30, but I grew up with 80's comedies and they're the ones I continually go back to and Leslie Nielsen's a big part of that. Everything he was in was better for it because of his presence. Airplane! is still my favourite (though it's called Flying High! here in Australia cause, you know, we don't know what an airplane is and that there were films called Airport). That was back when (for me) comedies were literally laugh a minute unlike some of the ones coming out now. I got dragged along to Scary Movie 3 when it came out and some of my friends are big Airplane! fans too. I'll never forget the look on some peoples faces when Leslie Nielsen did his "I just want to tell you both good luck, we're all counting on you." My mates and I all stood up and saluted! ![]() ![]() Leslie Nielsen: we salute you! |

Hey Jeff I know I've asked about it in the past but do you think that with next year being the 70th anniversary that Disney will rerelease Pearl Harbor on bluray that includes the much better directors cut and special features from the vista series DVD?
Yes, I am aware that many people hated this film but please don't post comments about how sucky this film is. If you don't like the film or care to have it on bluray keep it to yourself. |

I know Paramount's current state has meant that catalogue titles seemingly have slowed to a trickle but I was wondering if any of you have heard rumblings as to plans for the release of Star Trek Enterprise on Blu-ray? I am a big Trek fan but there has been very little in the way of news as to the intentions of CBS/Paramount when it comes to Star Trek on Blu-ray. It seems to make sense to make Enterprise next due to it being the easiest to do and I'm hoping it will be released sooner than later.

Enterprise has a tiny but loud fanbase. The DVDs sold poorly and there is very little aftermarket interest in the show outside the long term hardcore Trek community. The fact that the series has yet to be repackaged on DVD outside the plastic cases 5 years down the road should be telling
![]() There is far more interest in the fanbase and at Paramount in a TNG remastered than there is in putting Enterprise on Blu-ray at this time. I figure that at some point Paramount will at least do a FireFly and rerun the film on the franchise with upconverted FX (TNG is the only one that realistically stands a chance at a new coat of paint), only then would they really think about releasing it. |

Frank, you'll almost certainly get your wish. Producing those is relatively easy, and only TMP needs any real hard CG work (yes I know, a handful of people desperitely want to see Shatner's vision of 5. Read the novelization, it doesn't help
![]() ![]() I can't help but look at this video and wonder if some advanced variation of this is the future of 3D live-action filmmaking. http://kotaku.com/5701926/two-kinect...rld-around-you |
