Also, it's a quote from Aqua Teen Hunger Force that is always funny when I say it in my mind, but I guess that doesn't translate properly over an internet forum.

Red State tickets sold out a long time ago, and are fetching crazy prices on eBay. And there isn't a press showing, so all the reviewers were fighting for the same seats fans were thanks to Kevin Smith's whole "anti-critic" nonsense.

And honestly, I hate the WBC as much as the next guy, but the protest of their protest is just a waste of time. These guys THRIVE on attention - especially negative attention. Everyone should just ignore them.

Ok. And that's probably true. I'm not sure why you bring it up, though.

The casting for the Dark Knight Rises is hard for me to envision. However, I have no reason to doubt Nolan at this point. He's earned the benefit of the doubt.

The interesting thing is that they are/were supposedly looking for two female leads...if that's still true then we only know one...

I find that not paying attention to the celebrity baggage (ie, most of the dreck they call television) makes it hard to carry that image into the movies

Favorite quote ever:
He told me to get in the freezer, because there was a carnival in there. There was no carnival, it was a damn freezer. I got freezer burn, and I got mushed up against that chicken.

Of course I stopped watching after the theatrical movie raped my wallet.

What is it with all of these Best Buy exclusives?

Does BB pay Sony to get an exclusive.

I am specifially referring to Heavy Metal.

My best guess is that on niche titles that may not have been released until there is more market share, vendors like Best Buy and Target assume some of the production costs in order to score an exclusive window.
Without the exclusives, these titles would likely not be available until some later date when the studios see them as more profitable based on the install base.

Because exclusives generate extra income. All these titles would come out anyway, and typically these windows are just for a couple months anyway, but they help capture the most important time in any disc's life, the first 4 weeks. This is going to keep happening, and it's probably good overall for Blu-ray because it encourages catalog depth, and keeps the B&Ms engaged.

I did like the price of Heavy Metal.

$19.99 for a BB exclusive.

Btw Jeff,

You gonna play Dead Space 2 tommorrow? I have been waiting for that one for a long time. I just hope it doesn't suffer too much from Halo 2-Resistance 2 syndrome.

Thought DA was boring

DNF I'll rent or pick it up when it's under $10. I don't think it's going to age that well, or that gearbox is going to pull off somethign that's signifigantly different from Borderlands with boobies

Agreed. As long as the exclusivity window is only a few months or so, no harm done and it does give the B&M something to keep them relevent to the consumer when Amazon looms with lower prices or tax-free shopping.

Boogie Nights was the first title I purchased specifically because Best Buy had an exclusivity window ahead of general release and I remember personally feeling a little fun-factor walking out of the store with it versus the typical on-line purchase.

What have you got against Borderlands? I had an absolute blast with that game last year.

After Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 2, Arkham Asylum and Infamous it was probably one of best games I played all at the end of 2009. I know I logged in a lot of hours in it.

In a way I have that game to thank for getting me into RPGs such as Fallout 3 and Mass Effect.

I have nothing against Borderlands, but I also know that Gearbox has cranked the game out incredibly quickly, and that they haven't used very much of the original game design, what it was. So I'll wait and see, and by the time that's over I"ll be playing LA Noire anyway

HI Jeff,

From Bills peice that refers to the lord of the rings extended editions.. am i reading right that what we're going to get is a copy of the original extended editions with the movies in HD.. extras in SD.. and not the limited editions which had seamless branching between both versions of the movies? Also do you have any indication at this point if the movies will be kept together on individual discs or split across two discs?

Cheers,
Mick
