Hopefully Warner's will act on that awareness. I know Wicky and others have pointed out that that some things like that can take months to be flushed out of the production schedule.
But come on, if Universal & Paramount can do it right away.....

P.S. I'm looking forward to The Professionals too

Different scenario entirely. Especially because WB plans so far ahead. Seriously there's a lot more factors in play than the Uni/Paramount run to court for 4th place in the Blu-ray world. WB has far more titles in play than anyone else at one time just to cite one thing.

Question Is Lionsgate remastering Rambo Trilogy ?

I have asked this question more than 10 times but in vain.
Do you have any information on whether LGF is remastering Rambo Trilogy ?

First Blood will be identical to the previous disc, Rambo 2 and 3 are likely also sourced from the last transfer thye did of them 3-4 years ago

Bill, you've said that Warners releases are planned out way in advance so some titles will not get lossless audio. I am intrigued by this. Can you give a general timeline of what the process is for catelog titles and at what point its just way too costly to change plans. Can we use an example of Batman Begins and the Batman anime? The anime is listed as DD only so far and if that's to remain this way, why? Has it already been completely prepped and waiting to be pressed? Is it safe to assume once there is an official street date, its a done deal?

OK, I realise I was being a bit over-simplistic, but it is a little bit frustrating that probably 6 months (presuming they didn't decide on January 3rd ) after deciding to go Blu-ray exclusive, they are still announcing titles without lossless audio and using 25gb discs. I know the 25gb issue is on a case-by-case basis, but something like The Assassination of Jesse James......come on!!

I knew one of you would have a beard! For some reason I had my money on Bill. I ruled Penton & Paid out (who in their right mind would want a beard in Southern California??), and Max might not be old enough yet to have started shaving

Oh, you can find video of Bill on his site, or on YouTube, or somewhere. And pics. It's not like he's hiding his visage!

In other news -- thanks to you and the inimitable RAH for bringing up that DVD of Abel Gance's The Wheel to my attention! It totally flew below the radar, and it's something I totally need. Also, any more info on Welles's Don Quixote would be much, much, much appreciated. The version, the restoration status, the people who are handling that over at Image, the possibility of a Blu-ray release, anything. Thanks in advance.

And finally, before thanking you for the excellent soapbox editorial of last night, I'd like to ask you again about your offhand mention of the sequels in the His Dark Materials series actually materializing. Is there anything more you can reveal at this stage? Please?

Okay, then. Thanks for the excellent soapbox editorial of last night!

Or if you happen to know anything about a decent Chimes at Midnight release, do tell!!
Criterion should make it their first Blu-ray

Horse,
Last I heard, Bill lives in the O.C. (Orange County) part of SoCal.

For the record, all we do out here is surf all day and party all night ………..

Ah, the ironically named Frank Beard

Hey, my wife has an uncle called Bill who lives in Orange County. I think so anyway; is Anaheim in Orange County?
He doesn't have a beard either. Although he is about 76 years old, so I don't think it's the same Bill

Are you serious about Portmarnock??
I live literally 3 miles from Portmarnock (and grew up even closer). Yes there are ducks there, I bring my boys down some weekends with whatever stale-ish bread I can muster (in fact more often than not, the ducks enjoy it so much I usually run across to the store to buy more bread, LOL)
Thanks for putting this into my mind, weather permitting I think we'll go and feed the ducks tomorrow morning!!

Bill,

Any updates on a possible Blu-ray Godfather this year? If so and if you can, please re-enforce the need not to DNR the film grain in these movies.

Then you have your answer as to whether Anaheim is in Orange County.

B.T.W.
Anaheim has its own resident duck in Disneyland too.

Bill,
Is there any possibility of us seeing the newly-restored versions of "El Cid" and "Fall of the Roman Empire" on Blu-ray in the foreseeable future?

Asking about unannounced titles is a no-no in the Insider Threads. In Bill's case, I'm sure if anything of such a nature is forthcoming, even as a rumor, it'll be posted up at The Digital Bits, so keep an eye on the Rumor Mill section of Bill's site.

What Icemage said

And Weinstein has not announced any HD plans, though one would hope
