You'd better do some searching about that HDMI cable length on the net. HDMI starts having problems at longer distances, and you might have to spend more on a cable in that case.
Not saying their price is right -- just that you'd better ask over at avsforum.com or something. |

BJC Series-1 Belden Bonded-Pair HDMI Cables 50ft (15 meter) = £79.10 GBP ....not sure what that equates to in Australian dollars, but its a reliable company and ships anywhere in the world. |

I would also recommend Monoprice.com but their International shipping policy is vague...they ship to Canada, but Australia?
![]() 50ft HDMI Cable ($85) ...maybe give them a call to see about delivery? (909)989-6887 |

Jaycar sells good quality HDMI cables in Australia. You could by 10 meters for under AUS$100 I think. They have 7 day money back guarantee, IMO, is crucial as you could test and return if it does not work. Don't get 15 meters if you could get away with 10 meters.

This thread just saved me about $125. A Circuit City salesman talked me into a Monster HDMI cable that cost $130 this past weekend. I still have the packaging and receipt...so that expensive sucker is going back this weekend...and I ordered 2 from monoprice yesterday. So THANKS y'all!

Read this thread. Any reasonable HDMI cable if it is short, 2 to 3 meters. If long, 10 to 15 meters, you need to be careful.

I can vouch for monoprice. Excellent, fast service. AMAZING packing job and the cables are completely ssssssick. I ordered 4 3ft 1.3as two weeks ago when I got my new receiver and they are Hand soldered gold tipped cables that are easily a half an inch thick. and they were a little over 4 dollars each. These guys have NO overhead. It's probably just a factory with a computer in an office. Even the boxes they send you (although good quality) are from some other shipment. They do whatever they can to keep their prices down. All around great experience. monoprice BRINGS the rock!!! ![]() |

i recently orderd two 6ft hdmi cables from amazon and they cost about $9 each. They didn't have the best description online but once i received the cables i checked and it does have revision 1.3 marked on them. Anyways the cables work excellent. I work in a retail store and i know how much the wholesale price of monster and other brand cables are. Most $50-$60 cables cost less then $4 to the store.

General rule of thumb... If you need to connect something within 6 feet a cheap cable will perform as well as a expensive one... When you get into 10,15, or 20 meters cheap cables have trouble passing the signal, especially 1080p, so you'll need a high quality expensive cable...

![]() Just because a cable is inexpensive does not mean it is low quality. I've read countless posts by folks using 35' Monoprice or other good-quality, non-Monster-marketing-hype cables without any signal degradation. I've also read the article where Monster was shown (in lab tests) to better pass 1080p and higher signals versus other brands. When my projector theater is finally at the point of running wires, I will be researching what others are using for similar runs before I blindly go out and drop >$300 on a long Monster Cable. |
