It's probably okay, but Monoprice has a proven track record of quality cables like this one:

I have two of the same ones from Amazon, they are great! That said, Monoprice also provides great cables at unbeatable prices!

monoprice for sure. As long as it's V1.3 you're good, in which i've yet to find one on monoprice that is not and it's the cheapest value. I work in tv sales and feel bad selling the $40 6' cables where i work because in know it's a ripoff. But if the customer doesn't know, why tell them?
I've been tempted to actually just buy the cables off monoprice and then resell them to customers for like $25. They'd feel like they're getting one heck of a deal and i'd profit about $15-$20 instead of the usual $3.75. IDK if it's worth my job tho. Then again.....hmmm....

Does anyone REALLY think it costs more to make a Monster 1000 cable versus a Monoprice cable? Please. I'd wager most of the bulk cable used by Monster and others is produced from the same plants in China.
So I made my Monoprice order, I thought I should at lease give them a try... and with that price, you really can't go wrong. Thanks guys

I already have about four or five monoprice cables...but I still ordered more.

needed a 10 footer, so I got two of them and a 6 footer just in case. Three HDMI cables for $30 total!

Just hope they get here by monday when my new Plasma arrives!

interesting thread... I guess I'll stay with my opinion. My thoughts on the discussion is that they caused holes in the diaelectric, depends on what material they are made of.... and changed the entire circuit...way to deep for basic discussion. Burn-in is a basic part of electronics... but it is designed to look for failures, not improve a circuit

what about, jitter?

simply asking an open ended question holds no water.

Are you refering to HDMI jitter or Optical jitter? are they one and the same? how are they produced? what controlling factors limit/increase jitter? is there testing/correction for jitter? what does jitter sound like? etc.

too many variables to just say, "what about jitter"?

Great decision, dude. You'll see that they make a very high quality cable for the price. Welcome to the Monoprice club!

When I think of jitter, I think of poor voice quality over an IP network, but then again, that's what I do for a living.

Then you should understand that V1.3 means nothing in terms of a cable. HMDI versions apply to the devices only. For cables, you want a category 2, which will transmit everything needed for HD.
