All I know is that you should stay away from Monster Cables or anything in that price range, it won't help one bit!
Expensive HDMI cables are not better than cheaper ones

Like many others here, I too use cables of all types that I get MonoPrice.com. And I have never had any issues with their products. I suggest you look into them.

If you never had this problem with the blu-ray player directly connected to the TV, Then why do you think its the cable's?

Well when connecting HDMI through my receiver and then to my TV there is a break in the connection. When connecting directly to the TV then it is a solid connection. Also now I have a longer distance for the HDMI signal to travel in addition to the break at the receiver because I'm now using 2 HDMI cables. I just was thinking that higher quality cables matter more when you have a break at an in-between device such as a receiver and if the signal has to travel a longer distance.

When troubleshooting, if you remove something and the problem stops, then what you removed must have been the issue.

You remove the receiver and you must have removed one of the HDMI cables.
This possibly means that one HDMI cable could be bad or it’s the receiver causing the problem.

Have you tried with the other cable to see if it was the problem? Or thought that it might be the receiver?

Maybe you should tell us the receiver model and which model TV you have and that could be the problem itself.

I have read on this forum of certain receivers and certain HDTV's having issues with each other.

I'd recommend a nice Monster HDMI cable. People forget you can buy them on eBay dirt cheap which means you get a quality build with quality shielding for the same price as those cheapies in the store. Check out the eBay prices to see what you think.

I just picked up a brand new 8' Monster M1000 M Series HDMI cable for $33.51 total. That's their top of the line HDMI cable for a fraction of the MSRP.

You could have gotten a 8ft HDMI cable for $4.62 from Monoprice, Now thats a fraction of your price.... lol

That is pretty cheap. lol!

So I just checked out Monoprice and was like, whoa! They look pretty solid. It seems the only advantage Monster has is pretty pictures on their site and really good marketing and they look fancier if you go with the M Series. The Monoprice cables are about a third of even the eBay price I got. Hmmm. I think I've just converted to the Monoprice side.

The HDMI cables I'm using are the ones I bought from Monoprice. I bought the ones with the ferrite cores. Are these good quality cables? Are they adequate for connecting a middle device to a TV such as a receiver or an HDMI switch?

I have the same problem but the issue comes from my Yammy 463 and how it handles the HDMI feed to the TV

I agree with HAMP on this, if you remove the receiver and the problem goes away, it isn't the HDMI cable.

+1. I would definitely follow Hamp's suggestion on this one very carefully. He's trying to lead you down the right path before you open up your wallet again.

It's all about following a proper process of elimination in order to find the faulty culprit. Without doing that, you won't know for sure the issue is resolved.

Also, as a side note, are there any audio glitches at the moment the white noise appears, or is it purely a video problem?

I just purchased a Region free player to go along with my Region B player from Amazon.com. I want to know what cables everyone suggests to connect the Blu-ray player to my HDTV? I don't know much about cables, and when I researched online I didn't find very much useful information. Any help would be very much appreciated.

monoprice.com

less than < 15ft get the 28awg

more than > 15ft you might consider the 24awg or 22 awg (these are pretty thick cables, and do not bend easy)

I'm looking at getting one of the monoprice high speed HDMI cables and was wondering if they still need the ferrite cores if they don't come with them, or do I need to pick one up as well?
