My general gripes with the sequels to an origin film is that it's hard to keep things from following a very similar structure:

*New superhero is still doing their thing
*But, oh no, there's a new villain around! Worse than villain from origin film!
*New villain does something that catches superhero off-guard
*It's OK, the superhero figures out how to defeat bad guys again!

It's really, really hard to deviate from this pattern. I'll leave it up to you to decide how successful Iron Man 2 & 3 are at getting past the boring old formula.

Agreed. I liked the "bridge movies" (Iron Man 2, Age of Ultron) a lot from day one, and now I'm happy to see people coming around to them. Plus, no one can touch a dancing Sam Rockwell. He should've been in the Endgame war.

Huh, Iron Man 2 thread revived. Did someone go back to the past?

This is a slight drop from the original, mainly because of the bland final battle but still a good one. 3 is watchable at best.

Just realized how popular MCU have become in general. I was in high school when this movie released and it was just us geeks discussing the movie. Now Endgame has become a global event lol.

I like it just fine. Whilst not amazing the main plot is entertaining enough, and beyond the couple of earlier post credit scenes, this took significant steps towards what would become the larger MCU.

This one always gets a lot of flack, but I loved it. An easy 4/5 from me.
