I enjoyed the Wrestler but didn't think it was as fantastic as it was made out to be...so.."overrated". He was good in it though.
Ummm it got mangled from boxing and it was attempted to be repaired by plastic surgery. I don't blame him as he being someone wanting to go back to acting and looking close to respectable.

I thought he has polio when I first saw the pic and thought, "Oh man, this isn't going to be very fair." Hope it is Mark I suit and the movie delivers more awesomeness.

it looks like that because of bad plastic surgery such as face lifts, hair transplants, eye lid lifts etc, not repair work.
Some of it may have been to repair some minor damage but that much is a complete overhaul and repeated plastic surgery. he damaged it more from his hard living then he did in the ring I would guess

look at his lower lip, it's fuller now than when he was 25 and thinning of the lip is a given if people are allowed to age naturally

here on the left we can see the face has taken a beating from years of abuse and neglect but it still looked like a basket of fruit compared to what was to come.

I'm not going to prejudge the movie. I really didn't think the first one was going to be anything special- imagine my surprise.

I trust in Favreau to deliver- as you see: he can kill the bunny.

Joan Rivers was never a boxer, so please explain the strong resemblance between the two.

you gotta give people time to digest the truth slowly sometimes. one long post is too much truth and the mind gets fuzzy

I'm guessing he stole that thing on his chest from Stark and Iron Man will try and get it back.

Which would indicate that we'll see more than thirty seconds of Jon Favreau as Hap Hogan in the story-canon this time (or at least Tony behind the wheel)...

Interesting. Good point.

I will say that I've read that Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo are going to be combined into the villain that Rourke is playing so we'll probably see some armor as well. Their is probably a connection somehow between Rourke (who's character is Russian) and Black Widow. Also I've read that Hammer is the one that helps Whiplash out of prison (Hammer being Stark's competitor in the business world and also a villain in the movie) and probably is the one that helps him with the technology of a suit.

Here's some more great analysis from /film on how the first two official photos might be related. Check this out:

How are the first two official photos from Iron Man 2 possibly connected?

Paramount recently released the first photo of Mickey Rourke in costume as Whiplash. When the photo was released, I speculated that the photo was possibly Rourke’s first appearance in the suit, as the contraption looked like it was cobbled together with spare parts (very much like Stark’s Mark 1 armor). We know this… the scene takes place at the Monaco Gran Prix race track. Our friends at MovieViral noticed something fishy on Stark’s monitor. You see those squiggly lines across the top?

They look very similar to the map of the Monaco Gran Prix:

Also notice Stark’s other monitor… is that a breakdown of Rourke’s tech?

rourkes heart

Stark is looking rather annoyed at his super futuristic translucent screen. Could it be that this is the moment he first learns of Whiplash? I think so.

Did everyone get to see the cool comparison between the two official Iron Man 2 photos posted above?
