LOL...most of my actions are based on the fact I am still upset at BB. I was looking at a computer almost a year ago...I was actually thinking about buying the computer and I had adjusted the settings just like I liked them. While I was standing in front of the computer (no one else looking at the monitor besides me and my relatives), a sales associate walked up, sighed, pushed me out of the way, and changed the computer settings back to what it was before I was using the computer. Needless to say, I didn't buy the computer, told the manager the associate was extremely rude, and that I would not buy a computer from them if they hired people like the person. Oh yeah, I have been back, but I haven't bought from them. The sales associate didn't get any reprimand and they sure didn't offer an apology. Of course, my BB here in town is clueless on other things besides high definition technology. I always tell anyone who goes to the BB here in my town to beware...I actually direct them to another retailer or tell them to go on-line to get their electronics. My town is about half-way between Houston, Texas and Dallas, Texas, so there isn't much around as far as tech stores.

I like to take the new HDDVD releases(all of them) and hide them throughout the store on Tuesdays. I figure by the time they are found, people who wanted it, probably bought it on sd dvd anyhow.....lol

I haven't done that, but I have thought about taking Blu discs and covering up all the HD discs, but someone has already beat me to it. Guess I'm not the only one around that can't stand HD-DUD.

i hide the hd-dvd copies at walmart and other places behind the blu-ray version to make it look like they only have blu-ray copies and no hd-dvd copies so they will buy it on dvd or blu-ray

That thread has had me laughing, im glad im not the only nutcase who does that. At my work i give Blu Ray movies 6 spots instead of 4 just because i can, and HD DVD only gets 2 haha.

I usually don't mess with the displays, but if there is a DVD that's in the BD section, I gently pick them up and put them elsewhere. Also I check the cases to make sure they are all presentable. (Not facing backwards, etc.) You know, like when your little one goes to school for the first time.

Now, if there's a DVD in the HD DVD section -- well, that's someone else's problem.

By the way, the Fry's near me had HD DVD demos running through their TV section. I looked closely and noticed it's looking pretty bad. OK, maybe not that bad compared to their regular demo material, but still visible combing and artifacting if you look carefully. (To be fair, it was probably their splitter/booster, not HD DVD's fault, but anyway.) I mentioned it to their sales manager and they switched back to their regular demo feed.

I'm still torn whether I did the right thing or not. There were a lot of "HD DVD" logos plastered all over the place, but then it was really looking "imperfect" next to the Sharp 65" LCD running BD movies (this week it was TMNT). If I'm a salesperson trying to sell BD to a customer who's unsure which one to buy, I'd just point at the two displays and say, "here, pick one".

enjoy

My best buy treats my like a king.

For example I bought closer on Blu Ray for $10 for store pick up. That was a dot com error but they re-order-ed it on Blu Ray for me and used my $10 and their own $14 credit to pay for it. (and that was their idea.)

I don't play with the stuff on display (except maybe the video game stations but that's sort of the point.) Me and my bestbuy get along.

(Wish I still lived near a Fry's though,.. I loved that store.)
