Works fine for me: Momitsu BDP-899. You either have a firmware/software issue (update it) or the disc is just a bad egg. Try it on a different player at a Blockbuster, they'll let you test a disc. If it works, it's your player, if it doesn't, it's the disc. If it's the disc take it to the place you bought it, they will test it and replace it.

Exchanged mine the other day. The new one works just fine. Haven't had problems with the other Universal discs mentioned either. I guess those still having the problem should just keep exchangin' til they get a good one. That sucks.

My wife bought the twin pack last week and then I read your posts regarding CoR.
I got home yesterday morning and threw it in(BD35K) and lo and behold, same problem.
Returned it to Best Buy yesterday and they replaced it and she gave me ten bucks and some change saying that is was on sale this week. And the new disc works fine.

I shall find out monday, for that is when the replacement arrives.

Have the same problem on my BDP-S550... ugh. Theatrical Version works fine though.

I have no problem I have watched both Riddick and Pitch black on my PS3 no problems.

Borninusa I bought mine at Best Buy for $53 for the two and then found it cheaper on amazon for $35 and I watched both and had no problem. I go to Best Buy almost every week with my friend but I told him after I found it cheaper on amazon I might buy it from there from now on.

It seems to be hit and miss on getting a good copy of it...

I am not too worried about it...sooner or later one will show up.

Hopefully its an issue that gets taken care of

bought a copy of this along with pitch black yesterday and i also experience a lockup on scene 4. cant even fast forward through it.

the theatrical version works fine though. gonna exchange it this morning and see.

I just got a replacement from Amazon....me and my Sony 550 are happy. I watched the entire DC with no issue.

just exchanged it at the same wal-mart i bough it from yesterday and the new one works fine.

the packaging on both looked exactly the same...so as far as i can tell there really is no way to tell whether the disc will be bad or not

i was planning to wait to pick this up but i saw it at walmart for 19bucks and couldnt pass

played it just now on my bx1 latest firmware, the directors cut, no freezing at all
flawless playback

I received mines from Amazon and both of my disc play flawlessly on my PS3.

the dc of pitch black worked fine for me...
and then...
i tried to watch the dc of riddick and...
freeze!!!!
however the theatrical worked fine.

i bought the twin pack from BB...looks like I'll be visiting customer service tomorrow!
