Its all very strange...just seems to be hit and miss if you get a good copy or not. I didnt have high hopes from getting a good replacement from Amazon. I thought I would have to send it back a couple of times before I got a good one. I was wrong...found my good copy.

i bought CoR and PB separately and had the issue also.

I'm real happy with the PQ/AQ with both of these. Universal has been nailing some great blus in the quality category.

Had no problems at 14 minutes, but a few odd dropped frames at around 34 mins during the speech. Player Panasonic BD35.

I think you'll find that the 'dropped frames' issue is normal as this occurs where the new bits have been added.David Twohy mentions this in the introduction and it existed on the dvd version as well.

Good film i thought by the way and i can't understand all the poor reviews it got.It's not a 'brilliant' or 'exceptional' film but just a 'good' film imo.
Credit should go to David Twohy for trying something different as so many sequels are merely a rehash of the 1st film.

Shit! I too bought the 2-pack Bluray of RIDDICK and PITCH BLACK - and the UNRATED EXTENDED CUT of RIDDICK has a problem at the absolute time of 12:38; it pauses briefly at 12:38, then skips to about 14:00 and continues.

My Bluray Player is a SONY BDP-s500 and my firmware is up to date with version 4.30.

What can we do? Any solutions?

There is no difference between the COR disc that you purchase by itself in the Single-Pak or in the Double Pack which is bundled with PITCH BLACK. They are the same disc. All they did was shrink-wrap the PITCH BLACK Bluray in its amaray case to the COR in its amaray case.

I have read every post in here, and it seems to be a compatibility problem with the disc and certain players (mainly Sony and Pana)

By the way, who would get C.O.Riddick and NOT want PITCH BLACK?! They are part 1 and part 2, people. Thats like buying ROCKY 2 but not ROCKY 1. And PITCH BLACK is the better rated, more critically acclaimed of the two. So I dont have any idea who would go out of their way to get part 2 (COR) but not part 1 (Pitch Black)

I just watched my double pack extended cut and had no problems. I do have the the new Panasonic DMP-BD60 with the latest firmware but don't really know if that would make a difference or not.
