Well I'm not smart enough to take screens straight from the PS3, so I did it the old fashioned way.... with digital camera....

Blu-Ray player is PS3.... TV is my new toy... Samsung 52A650 (w00t)
I'll get some more up when I get the chance... LOVE this TV, the pics don't do it complete justice.

Pic 1 - The obligatory Cars pic... preview from POTC3

Pic 2 - Sunshine 1 (extreme eyeball closeup... I thought it was impressive.)

Pic 3 - Sunshine 2 (check out the solar flares on the right side of the sun... awesome!)

28 Days Later was filmed in a resolution lower than 480i. So yes it is that "bad". The audio on the Blu is a great upgrade regardless.

yeah, I actually found the blu-ray.com screencaps... I hadn't realised it was actually shot in 480i - what a shame boyle didn't shoot on film and apply filters... then at least he could have rejigged it for HD and it might have looked decent...

i found them for hostel 2 also, and it looks pretty good to me...

PQ Rating: 1.75/5 - Very Poor - Regardless of it being a problem with the source, almost all of this movie looks nothing like HD. Defend the director's intent all you want. I'll let the screenshots speak for themselves.

The first 4 shots are taken from the majority of the movie, which was filmed in 480i with DV cameras. The other 4 shots are from the last few minutes of the movie, which was filmed using actual film stock.

thanks heaps QuasidodoJr... what a shame it wasn't all shot on film... those last 4 look decent to me, the rest of it looks like garbage though... my SDDVD will suffice for this film...

Picture quality is only half the equation. Your DVD have the DTS-HD Master Audio track the Blu-ray version has?
