Just thought I'd check whether its OK to post screenshots of blu rays that have already had pictures posted of that particular film. I watch films on my computer and would like to post screenshots of Gattaca and Transformers from my computer.

Apocalypto has 5 different sections in the index; so yeah, the more the merrier.

You can download free software that will take screencaps at 1920X1080 instead of taking pictures with a camera. Discussion here.

I'm not sure I understand you, maybe you've misunderstood me? I was always going to be taking screenshots with software, the reason they won't be 1080P is because of the size of the screen.

I don't have a blu-ray drive (yet), so I don't really know, but I assumed that it would take screencaps at the resolution of the source material, not at what it was being downscaled to the monitor as. My reasoning for this is that I have a 1080p monitor, but when I take screencaps of 720p material , the pictures are at 1280X720. Of course, I can upscale the video and grab 1920X1080 shots as well, so maybe my assumption is wrong. Hopefully someone who actually does take blu-ray screenshots with their computer can clear it up for the both of us.

It's irrelevant what size your screen is. Screen resolution is what matters when taking screenshots.

I know, and I was explaining that as my screen is 22", the resolution is 1680x1050 and therefore my screenshots wont be "true" 1080P, just very close to that.

I suppose it all depends on the software you are using to playback the Blu-ray and make the frame captures. Something like mplayer can save the original frame before any up/downscaling occurs so it doesn't matter what your monitor's resolution is - the bitmap images are always going to come out at 1920x1080 (or whatever the source rez is). Other software may work differently.

Quick question. My only camera aside from my phone is a 4 megapixel Samsung. Is that enough for a decent quality? I have a few movies not on the list that I'd like to take some pictures of.

Just snapped these quick so the camera isn't always straight or adjusted with the best settings. The camera has obviously done some auto brightening as you can tell by how light some of the pictures look, the PQ is not washed out. The PQ on this Blu-ray is immaculate! 50GB disc, AVC, usually running around the mid 30s.
