Other than a few "intentional" face smoothing for some of the scenes, the picture quality is truly excellent. Black levels are well handled and some close-ups display great details. As for the movie itself, it has a simple and touching story coupled with some of the most intense sword fights ever seen on screen. Reign of Assassins is must have for fans of kung fu and wuxia films.

Interesting. A nice transfer but it looks like for the restoration Scorsese was able to color grade the film. I don't remember the entire movie looking yellowish-brown like that.

Beats me mate. I just took the shots and stuck them up. There are three images from my lot that match three images from the Blu-Ray.com review. Take a peek and see which you think are the closest to what you can recall.

The timing of the restoration was matched to approved answer prints from 1976, with specific input from both Chapman and Scorsese. According to both the director and cinematographer, the restoration represents the film's original color palette for the first time on home video.

i need to do some screen shots but through the computer i have a a pc and a mac and an external blu ray player i want to capture the images at full 1080p but have no idea and i read on there people can not say so if some one could please drop me a message or email i would really appreciate it thanks

Download DVDFab, select 'Blu Ray Copy' from the main screen, go get a cuppa and take shots of the ripped movie file with either VLC Player or The KMPlayer. Job done.
